Awww you gotta feel bad for the other guy considering everyone fancies Dominic and no one pays attention to the other one it seems. Calling Chris Chung “the other guy” and “the other one” probably doesn’t help him either, to be fair I didnt know is name haha, my only frame of reference is this board and going by some comments I only refer to him as the other one. 😂😂

Well Heathers, what a revelation. Definitely lives up to the hype and I’m way out of the age demographic. Voices insane, band insane (although it did drown out some of the lyrics at times) and strong performances all round. CHF has silenced her critics I believe and held her own. People have commented about her ‘pulling faces’ but I think the general tone of some of the performances particularly Kurt and Ram are played as broad comedy so I imagine that is how she’s been directed. Heads up for anyone planning their visit. The programme says the running time is 2 hours with an interval. Today’s matinee ran 2.5 hours with an interval. At one point I thought they were going to play it straight through. Echo the thoughts of others that Act 2 script could do with tightening up, the second act seemed a little padded out in places. Fan girls out in force but not disruptive although the applause and reactions to the songs were wild.

So saw this on Friday, when an actress got indisposed in the interval. The director who looks like Michael Moore came out after the interval to inform us and did so with the greatest wit.
I always thought Carrie: The Musical was a show that was developed by the RSC and was rushed to Broadway, where it was the biggest flop of all time, what do I know?
I thought the show wasn’t awful, nor brilliant and see how it feels in the mound of Legally Blonde and Mean Girls. The actress who stepped up to the plate, to replace the indisposed actress was superb and had one big solo number, which she sung with great gusto and very well.
May see this again at the Haymarket.
3 Stars

If anyone is planning to see this a midweek matinee in school term term would be a very very good time to go.

Theres no way. It would die a death in a theatre that big. Kinky Boots is closing because another show wants that theatre. They only closed Kinky Boors because thet believe whatever is going in next will have bigger sales and more of an audience. That would not be Heathers, at all. Oh Daniel, if you only waited 1 minute. Its doing a 12 week run with high prices. It will d fine, but it won''t be a sell out and the Haymakret always does limited runs, the Adelphi has always been a house for intended long runners (even if some shows dont last there).

Also, I don't know if anyone else realised, but Charlotte Jaconelli (stoner chick and understudy Martha) came 2nd on Britain's Got Talent in 2012 as half of Jonathan and Charlotte!

She really did a superb job on Friday - a perfect Martha. Audience gave her a lot of love (as instructed by Andy Fickman) on her first entrance in Act 2. But, by the end, the love was earned and enormous.
As for the show... what a bizarre phenomenon this is. The audience seemed determined to love it, regardless of whether it was any good or not. That’s not to say it’s not - it’s very slick, well sung and pretty well staged. But tonally, it’s all over the place and made me more than a little uncomfortable in its handling of some of the themes that one might describe as in quite poor taste. The writing simply isn’t sharp or satirical enough to negotiate a story like this. Still had a fun night, though!

In doubt about buying tickets for November.
What shows could this be compared to?

In doubt about buying tickets for November. What shows could this be compared to? Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, Wicked in some ways thematically and fans-wise but otherwise not really.

In doubt about buying tickets for November. What shows could this be compared to? Musically it’s similar to Legally Blond in lots of places, a lot darker but still with a flashy surface. Tonally it’s all over the place, but so was the movie...shallow teen movie one minute, pitch black murder comedy the next. The cast recording is very accessible; a couple of the songs have been scrapped since then but otherwise it’s a great representation of the big moments in the show.

Went over to the website on the off-chance and just managed to get some £29 front row seats for next Thursday- can't quite believe my luck!
Has anyone sat on the front row and can comment on anything that is restricted?

How bad are the staircases- are they on the stage a lot, and do they block any important scenes? Thanks again

I was in a7, and apart from being blocked a few times by cast members due to the staging, I didn’t feel it was massively restricted.

I’m in A23 tonight. It’s the interval and I’ve not missed too much.

I really enjoyed tonight. Heathers is one of those films I watched a lot as a teenager, but as others have said there are a lot of younger audience members in the audience, and not that many of my age!
I’ve not seen CHF on stage before and I know she seems to divide opinion on here but I felt she gave a really good performance and it’s hard to see that anyone else would be better suited to it. The whole cast were great- not a weak link amongst them.
I am contemplating going again when it transfers if they do some good rush tickets. Great night out 🙂

Post removed.
Board members are reminded that for copyright reasons, photographs are not usually permitted of current productions. Sorry, I didn’t think. 😥

Thank you for the heads up, I was thinking I'd have to wait for the transfer before seeing it but seeing as I've got a week off next week and not much planeed and there was one one ticket left for next Thursday's matinee it seemed to be fate. I'm going to be in A25 so good to hear up thread that it's not too restricted a view, am hoping I will be suitably out of the firing line when it comes to the picking on a middle aged man in the front row!

Saw this tonight. What a HIT. A mixture of Carrie, Clueless and Serial Mom the audience went WILD. So pleased it’s transferring. 9/10

Hi learned board members anyone know whether Heathers cast sign after matinees please? Thank you x No, just after evening performances I believe. They use the time between shows after the matinee to rest.
