Twitter rumblings suggest this might be transferring to the Haymarket.
Its going to be a transfer announcement, as they've set up heathersthemusical as a website, and I don't think that would be done unless we were getting a further life for it. Interesting if it is the Haymarket though - 888 seats on 4 levels - very different to The Other Palace

If its with Carrie, it won't be until next year as she is doing War of the Worlds again isn't she? I imagine it will be a limited run in the West End.

I'll be incredibly shocked if this announcement is anything other than a transfer. Personally I can't see it in the Haymarket but that does seem to be the most likely option right now, intrigued to see how it'll fare there if it does indeed transfer there.

Based on their website, the Haymarket has an intriguing gap from August 5th to November 30th where nothing is in there. Carrie does War of the Worlds from November, but Heathers could well go in from mid/late August to late October for its limited run.

An almost immediate 8 week transfer wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Closing on August 4th - open 10 days later? run until the 13th October?

They'd need to announce it ASAP (or more realistically weeks ago) if they wanted to actually make any money or fill the house... you need time to build up the buzz & anticipation to fill a west end house. I mean, just look at the Spring Awakening transfer. Huge buzz at Lyric Hammersmith, then DOA in town.

People are clamouring for tickets, even the £65 tickets are going as soon as they are returned. This will sell for a limited run very easily I would think. Not quite Christmas, but I bet I know what a lot of teens would like for their successful exam results

You watch, I'll be thrilled if that is the actual plan just because I called it. 😂😂

Just without the murder. Not counting that time you almost ran over Marisha Wallace in the middle of the road of course.

Alibi available if required.

So I too was there yesterday.
I went because I am a fan of the original film and the off-Broadway cast recording.
What I couldn't have anticipated was the audience and how young they all were. At a guess about 90% female and they were ecstatic, some of them dress as a Heather or a Veronica. A lot of then has coloured hair bands that they all threw on the stage during the bows.
I'm 48 and as a regular theatre goer, for the first time ever, I actually felt old.
The irony is most of these kids weren't even born when the film was released. And there were all so beautiful. Heck, even the gus were beautiful.
So the show itself. I actually really enjoyed it. As referred to above, I was familiar with the music so it was good to see how these songs were stage and all the whole cast worked really hard.
I have never seen Carrie Hope Fletcher in anything- alas I missed The Addams Family tour and she was good. A real talent.
I also really liked Jamie Muscato. I had previously seen him in Dogfight at the Southwalk Playhouse. He really captured JD with the dark, sinister, underlying
Good to see Jenny O'Leary back at The Other Palace after Rent.
Its a relatively simple show to put on. Minimal costume changes- with the exception of one phenomenal change that happens right in from of your eyes.
Does anyone know why the song Blue was replace by You're Welcome?
I couldn't help the song My Dead Gay Son was the Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat feel to it.
And on the gay theme, I don't know if this was actually part of the show or it was added because of Pride but when both fathers opened their jackets they were both wearing rainbow ties. I could help but notice that one of the female ensemble- Lauren Drew has a rainbow stripe on her socks. There was a rainbow stripe on March Dumptruck's shoes.
Whilst I understand the reasons why, I couldn't help but find it amusing that the actors plating Kurt and Ram had to spend most of the second acting their coloured Y-fronts or pants as you Brits call them.
Merchandising was flying out the door however I was a bit disappointed by the lack of a fridge magnet.
I hope this has another life in the West end. It could reach a whole new and much wider audience.

Does anyone know why the song Blue was replace by You're Welcome? ‘The reason for this is due to the show's creators feeling that the song was lazy and trivialized date rape, whereas "You're Welcome" sees Veronica expressing fear for her situation rather than annoyance.‘ According to Wikipedia anyway! But I think it’s a good transition considering the state of the world right now.

Thinking about it overnight, I can picture this show in the Haymakret from a design perspective. I can just see the outside of the theatre now.

Transfer and opening where and when? My bet is Theatre Royal, Haymarket; limited run from mid-August to late-October.

It's going into the Haymarket by the looks of it, I've just tried typing heathers after the 'whats on' url and it takes me to a 'site error' booking link page. No idea of what dates it'll be but immediate transfer from TOP until October/November looks a likely bet.

I also think it could go into a non traditional theater space like 5 Guys Named Mo and In The Heights. It could also go to the Arts theater which is free after December 1

It takes me to a different error page to what it usually does though. Equally it changes 'heathers' to 'heathers-the-musical' automatically and if you watch the url it changes to one that has booking link in before going to the error page, which is what was making me think it was going in there and the page just wasn't yet active.

Haymarket September 1st
Shame that all the cheap seats will be in that vile balcony (or maybe some at the front if we are lucky!)
