If it transfer it won't be until 2019 - everywhere is booked up! Apart from the Ambassadors that is but would that be too small for a commercial transfer?
Maybe a return to The Other Palace after Eugenius?

It’s either going to be a west end run or a tour (although I think this is better in the west end rather than tour) some people online have said its a cast recording but I can’t see why they would make a website for a cast recording.

I’d say if it’s is transferring immediately it could be to the Wyndams as that free for the summer from August to Septembers, only a guess but It seems likely.

It would probably be early August to late September so about 8 weeks and it is a rather cult musical so I can’t imagine it having a drastically long run and as well . I also hope it wouldn’t be the haymarket as that it’s not the best theatre and with the Wyndoms being makintosh that also seems like it may add to it. Let’s see..

I think it's been mentioned but if it is an immediate transfer, it would be without Jodie Steele as she's been announced for the Rock of Ages UK Tour....or is that not for a while? Who could take Jodie's place if she can't go with it?

I’d rather they took over a school sports hall for the Summer somewhere in central, than watch it in the Wyndham's. Remember seeing that goddawful Madonna play there and I’m scarred for life.
How cool would it be to be sat on bleachers in a scholastic setting watching it? The set isn’t all that; they’d just have to tweek the sound & lighting...it’d be so very. 🎀

Who could take Jodie's place if she can't go with it? Rock of Ages starts at the end of September, so I’d imagine rehearsals would start towards the end of August. Likely not feasible for Jodie to be a part of an immediate transfer (or one a little further down the line, if she’s staying with Rock of Ages)

I think the Wyndham's is also going to be closed for refurbishment before Height of the Storm which is probably the reason there's a 8 week gap between Red closing and Height of the Storm opening.

I bet, like Jon says, that this ends up at the Haymarket. Their autumn production announcement is now way overdue and in my experience that usually means a Kenwright show is due to be announced about 3 weeks before it starts (On the Waterfront, How the Other Half Loves). Only other immediate options would be a six week slot at Trafalgar Studio 1 between 22nd October and 24th November, or a September run at the Ambassadors. No other availability this year.

They could also go into a non traditional space like In The Heights and Five Guys Named Mo...

As a sound engineer who has had to do a couple of shows in sports halls (and similar large metal halls like the Excel Centre) you really won't like how it sounds... Would that not be your problem to solve, or is it unsolvable? Unsolvable, without building a much smaller space inside the hall which makes the exercise of staging it in one pointless. The acoustics in a sports hall let the sound bounce around all over the place, making for everything being muddy and incomprehensible. Only other way you could make it work would be everyone to wear headphones, silent disco style. Could even give you a knob for more or less vocals so everyone is happy.

Monkey, are you equating an enormous multipurpose stadium with a *sports hall*, like the kind you'd find in a leisure centre or school? Are you joking us right now?

^So how do Wembley Arena and The O2 cope with concerts? Both are also used (indeed Wembley Arena was designed for)sport? Do they cope though? I’ve never been to a stadium gig where I’ve been completely happy with the sound. Some are “ok” others are downright dreadful. I’ve pretty much stopped going to them for this reason. You pay all that money and it sounds pants.

I don’t think I’ve ever had the same ‘aural’ experience twice in Wembley Arena. Rock shows tend to sound a bit dirgy there whilst pop shows can sound thin and tinny. The worst was a Childline show with loads of different indie type bands then Bjork headlining. Absolutely shocking noise.

Carlisle, Sands Centre is perfect example of a sports-hall-come-receiving-house that actually works well. I've toured there and with the right PA and a good systems tech on the job there wasn't an issue. Whilst its not the best venue visually for theatre, its versatility is proven.
