His 'scottish' accent /attempt was truly atrocious. He'd be booed off stage here if he reprised his role. of all of the men who played/lined up to play the lead so far, Tony Yazbeck is by far the best choice as far as I'm concerned. I've never been a fan of Jeremy Jordan but I've heard clips of his singing, and he sounded amazing. Matthew M. was just way too annoying for words on Glee, and that is the only thing I can think of when I associate him with anything. Who's accent are you talking about? |

Alfie Boe??? I really do not see him. Bad casting. As the producer I could see it, but not as Barrie.

I love Alfie Boe but couldn't see it either. I think Hadley Fraser (as suggested by others on hrre) would be a lot more suitable. I just don't hear Boe's voice singing the music.

I think he's a VERY talented performer, but not my personal first pick for the role. Others can and do disagree. And besides, the casting isn't even official yet so really it'sall just speculation. He's an actor after all, I've no doubt he'd be fine.  |

Oh really? Very interesting. I saw the show a few weeks ago and Tony Yazbeck really stood out amongst the rest of the cast (along with LMK). Will be interesting to see what Boe brings to the table. It'll certainly be nice to see him in something that's not Les Mis! |

We aren't really condemning Alfie Boe, just expressing our own personal opinions on how we think he'll fit in the role if the speculation turned out to be true and he was cast. Most of us have said that although he wasn't the first person who would spring in our heads to fit the role of J.M Barrie we would be happy to give him a shot. There's no harm in sharing a personal opinion about an actor. It's not like we are throwing around abuse on here. This is purely a debate sharing our views on who we'd like to see and if we think Alfie would be right for the role. At the end of the day, that's all down to the producers. |

Well he's definitely joining the Broadway production. Baz has tweeted a pic of Alfie with LMK, starts March 29th.
Remains to be seen if he opens the show here too like the paper said.

Wow I didn't expect him to be joining that soon... will be very interesting to see him in the role! And if it is true he is due to close the show too, then it makes the rumours of Laura transferring all the more realistic!  |

If Laura transfers I'm definitely going. I loved her when I saw the show on Broadway. Would be great to have her back on stage in the West End. I have such fond memories of seeing her in Lord of the Rings (I know not many did but I loved that show).

Well I love Alfie, contrary to what I've read here. I sat in the O2 very sceptical, as a fan of MT but I was blown away within 15 minutes at the Les Miz 25th. He has a phenomenal voice and huge power and he's very capable of delivering a knock out performance.

I think maybe they will wait and see how he gets on. I would doubt he would transfer with it if he ends up not getting good reviews and it not really working. The plan is probably him coming over as long as things work out.
Which is good for us as it means that if it doesn't, we get get someone else. However, if it does work and he does well, he does well, so is good, so we'll be getting a good leading man. It's win win.

And if Laura Michelle Kelly does not come over then Laura Pitt Pulford for Sylvia. I'd be very happy with either Laura! I saw this is Leicester (I know it's now totally different, but still) with Rosalie Craig and she was really good in the role, and has such a lovely voice so fingers crossed she'll return to it. Maybe they'll cast Hadley too as they've worked together a fair bit and it makes a nice press release! |
