I couldn't see an existing thread for this since we all moved across to the new forum and forgive me if this question was mentioned in the (rather long) thread on the old forum but does anyone have any idea or update on a UK DVD/Blue-Ray release date for this?

I was listening to the album today and had a question.
In 'All I need is the girl' should the line be 'the steps are good for the costume' or 'this step is good for the costume'? It seems to differ by production
More importantly, what does it mean? Why would steps be good for a costume?

I'd guess in this context it's about matching. You could, for instance, get someone in an '80s punk costume to dance a Charleston, but it wouldn't look right. If she's wearing a fabulous white gown for an Astaire-style dance number, you'd need a dance style that looked appropriate for the costume. Also, if the gown was particularly drapey or unwieldy, you'd need to focus on moves that showed it off and weren't achievable without anyone tripping up or tearing anything.

I already near bankrupted myself going (including closing night). If this returns then it's not being fair on my wallet.

Watched this again on catch up last night.it is truly phenomenal Saw it three times and on last night.i think I have exhausted my Gypsy fetishism for a couple of years. But I would be thrilled if it goes to Broadway. Not sure if it is Broadway enough for the American show queens

Honestly I can't imagine Imelda doing it on tour and a West End revival of the revival sounds kinda weid to me... maybe Broadway?

It's going to Broadway.
Imelda would never do a tour. And not of a show this gruelling.

It must be Broadway. In the interview he said "it wouldn't take a genius to fill in the blank" and most peoples natural thought would be Broadway after the West End.
Plus, a lot of people think touring is a bit second rate compared to the West End or Broadway, Imelda would never do it!

A few months ago several people were saying "she'll never do it on Broadway".

A few months ago several people were saying "she'll never do it on Broadway". Well, she said that she wasn't interested in performing on Broadway and they had a gypsy revival that closed early 7 years ago due to the sales.

I can't see Broadway taking to a British actress in that iconic role.

I think that if it were to ever go to Broadway, it would be a limited three month run... to please those who would want to see it, get Imelda her Tony etc

They'd never make money from a three month run. I suspect a Spring to January run would be more likely.

Wasn't there talk of this going to nyc but not broadway, I forget the name of where they were looking at going.
I can't see this selling, imelda just isn't a big enough name for yet another revival of gypsy over there

Broadway.com do a Live at Five podcast and yesterday they did reveal that it is definitely going over and it planned to come "somewhere in America"... discussed about 55 seconds into the video.

I can't see this selling, imelda just isn't a big enough name for yet another revival of gypsy over there I agree... the reason why it did so well over here was the mix of Imelda and the fact it hasn't been done here in years! If it went over this year or next year, it will be less than a decade since the Patti LuPone run.
