For those with an annual ATG+ membership on automatic renewal, ATG have a new system this year. The annual fee is collected on the expiry date, as previously, but now, they won't order your next year's card until the payment has been received and they take up to 28 days to be produced and mailed. They used to send out the new card in advance, but apparently people whose payments failed were still then able to use the new cards for bar discounts. (You'd think that the till would do a check that the account is active, but this is ATG after all, so no joined-up IT.)
So, now, annual members cannot avail of the bar discount for up to four weeks at the start of each year until the new card arrives. Ker-ching!

Is the website having issues? I am trying to log in but the system doesn't let me get any further than the main sign in page. I have tried on different devices but no luck.

If only existing members could log in... or is that just me still?

If only existing members could log in... or is that just me still? Ah ... turns out I had to go through the forgotten password loop to reset because they've changed the password requirements and my old one didn't qualify. Nice of them to communicate that to their members.

New ATG branding and font... Now, I am not somebody with accessibility needs or requirements, but I would be very interested to know what others think of the new font that ATG are using for their branding and top line "WELCOME TO ATG TICKETS" on their website. It has what I can only describe as linear shard/slash style applied to the purple lettering and actually genuinely made me feel nauseous reading it. Has anybody else experienced this or any other issue with the style of lettering used?

On two recent ATG bookings I've gotten the error message online
Something took too long behind the scenes. If you don’t receive an email confirmation within the next 10 minutes, please call us and we will be happy to help. +44 (0) 33 3009 3108
Now okay, two errors and I've had to call twice but I have to say the staff on the phoneline have been fantastic each time. Friendly and helpful to the point where this morning, I had two specific seats in my basket when I got this error so they were stuck and even the agent could not check them out. No problem, he just said he could call me back as soon as they were available. He did just that within 5 minutes and now I am all booked.
Obviously I'd prefer the website to work (tho both agents have told me they know about it, something has gone wrong and they are working on it) but on calling, my experience has been great.

As ATG ticket prices rocket, you'd would expect to see that the ATG+ member discount on the weekly touring shows would maintain a similar percentage reduction. But no, it's actually reducing in absolute terms.
At the Alex in Birmingham, we used to get £10 discount (even 2-for-1 once upon a time) on opening night and £5 discount after that. Since Covid, typical prices are up to double what they were before, and the opening night discount is typically a miserly £7.
Bearing in mind that they often cancel the first night because of poor ticket sales, coupled with the inevitable technical issues on the first outing in a new venue, I think the extra £2 discount compared to later nights that are more likely to go ahead and with smoother running is not a worthwhile saving.

ATG+ feels a bit shoite these days, offering very little real value.

For Sunderland Empire there would often be 50% off for the first night, but I haven't seen that in a while.

I’ve cancelled my membership… their customer service was next to useless when I wanted to change tickets for Lyonesse and Backstairs Billy, and whilst it’s nice to not pay the booking fee it’s borderline whether I buy enough tickets directly with them to break even on the membership fee.

I have to say that I very often end up changing my dates around and they are always brilliant for that. It's why I have the membership for that flexibility. It's disappointing and surprising to hear you had problems in that regard.

I keep my membership as I recover the cost of membership through the no booking fee and the discount in the bar easily. It is sad to see the discounts more and more disappear, and the pre-sales become more of a pain with notification on resales usually happening a few minutes after they go live. I was hoping with the rebrand to ATG+ they would do more, but they seem to do less.

I rarely use the 25% bar discount that's available at most ATG venues in England and Wales. Firstly, you have to be over half an hour early to get it, and, in the West End, that can mean 45 minutes if the queues to get in the building are bad. Secondly, even with the discount, there's nearly always a pub close by that is cheaper, with better quality drinks, and with toilets with no waits.

Not so promoted ATG discounts include free premium access to Tripbeat (worth £69) giving you up to 60% off UK hotel stays and other travel discounts. If you’re driving in London (although why would you?), 15% discount on Q-Park with code ATG15. Q-Park also includes Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, York, and Edinburgh. Details here www.q-park.co.uk/en-gb/atg/ .

Perhaps I was just unlucky but on both those occasions they were very unhelpful, ‘nothing we can do’ etc.

They can't just refuse! To be fair, one was a day before the performance when it was outside of the exchange policy… but there was no obvious reason for them to be as awkward and unhelpful as they were with changing my booking for Lyonesse.
