You mean you’re not all taking advantage of the free cloakroom?

The moral of the Romeo and Juliet fiasco is sign up to any shows presale offers you want to go to and don’t trust ATG.
As an aside as a Theatrecard member I am still trying to sort out an issue with not receiving emails which was first reported to them in September, despite many emails to different departments and confirmation that I am opted in they are looking into why the marketing emails they send me are returned undeliverable! They manage to send me e-tickets and reply to my emails so I can’t understand why sorting it out is proving so difficult. They are adamant that they are using the correct email address in their marketing database! However reading their Facebook page I don’t think I am the only one with such an issue.
Is anyone else on this board having the same problems?

With all the comms issues that us card holders have had or are having regarding receiving or not getting Theatre Card emails I can't see why when you log into the Manage Your Account section someone in the IT section cannot code a section to include a communications preferences option. As has already been posted account holders need to grant permission to ATG to send the emails. Therefore, why not cut out all the faff and allow the account holder to tick available comms options e.g. email / post / phone for the relevant venues on the account as this would be the same as sending / phoning up to do the same thing but with less stress. If any issues then develop, the account holder can simply log onto their account and check their preferences in a few clicks instead of having to rely on someone at ATG Customer Services to do it or not as the case seems to be.

The ATG+ Programme needs a massive overhaul.
Pre-sale for a number shows (most recently Here and Now in Birmingham) I have clicked the link bang on opening and been dropped straight in a cue with people with links for pre-sale directly from the show. The communications on pre-sale is hit and miss.
Add to the fact that ATG are putting their prices up non-stop, the nice idea of the £25 lounge is now rapidly becoming a £75+ for an experience on top of overpriced tickets, it has made me be far more choosy on what I go to the theatre to see as I can justify the prices ATG are charging.

Following the discussions about ATG I decided to investigate the opening night top price tickets for the forthcoming tour of Hairspray.
12 regional ATG theatres, top price tickets for opening night priced from £57.50 to £67, only 4 of their theatres below £60!
16 other regional theatres, top price tickets for opening night priced on the whole from £44.50 to £56, apart from Cardiff £67, Newcastle £64 and Truro £60. Southampton was the most reasonable at £44.50.
My local theatres Wolverhampton Grand very good value at £49.50 and Birmingham Hippodrome a bit more pricey at £56.
I was surprised to find such a large variation in the prices and how much more the ATG theatres are! I will certainly be paying more attention when booking tickets in future.

Is it just me or has ATG suddenly released a flurry of emails (theatre tours, presale for Chicago etc)? I've received more from them in the last week than I have the entire year!

I have noticed that too, maybe a new coms person has been appointed and they have seen what their predecessor hadn’t been doing and put it right straight away!

It would be great to receive just one email, from my initial contact with ATG in September I have got as far as them confirming that I am opted in but that my issue is now being investigated by their external data holders.

I contacted customer service last month as I didn't receive the January sale email and they confirmed I was opted in to receive emails. I haven't received any for months.
I made a booking for JCS in Bristol yesterday and ticked the box to receive emails so will see if that changes anything.

I find the statement on the checkout page very confusing, should you tick the box or not.
‘So that you hear about the best shows and offers, we’d like to send you the occasional communication. If you’d prefer not to hear from the Ambassador Theatre Group via electronic marketing communications, please tick the box ⏹️. You can opt out at any time.’
I read that statement as tick the box if you don’t want emails, but then the last bit doesn’t make sense!

Maybe that's what I've done wrong then, I thought it said tick if you want emails!

I see Hamilton’s going on sale at the Liverpool Empire next week. Members 9AM Thursday, priority signup 12PM, general the day after.
So it can be done…

Okay, has ATG+ awoken from its slumber for everybody else? I've never received so many presale emails in such a short time. It feels like they're actually making some effort to encourage and retain loyal card holders...

It’s nice to see some positive stuff going on with an improvement in the comms at the moment. I do wonder if there have been some changes behind the scenes? Hopefully it’s the start of some positive changes at ATG.

Finally at lunchtime today I have been told that my account has been refreshed and I should receive emails. Please could someone please post when they next get an ATG presale email so I can confirm that my account is finally working again after five months of trying to get it sorted out. Thanks

What a surprise, I haven’t received anything! Thanks for the information I’ll reply yet again to ATG to say that my account still isn’t working.

Another day, another priority booking email. They must have had a lot of complaints over the Romeo and Juliet thing, as I’ve been inundated with them ever since.

Still no emails for me, I have provided ATG with a list of their theatres that I wanted emails from as they said I was only signed up to receive ones relating to The Alex. That hasn’t made any difference either. A question please to Marob what theatre was your presale email for? I think another email to theatre card admin is on the cards. Can’t believe that after six months it’s still not sorted out.
