It I really quite strange leaving an announcement this late when half the cast is leaving, however it seems it is pretty much staying open for a while, as I don't think they would announce a closing with only a week to go until cast leave. I think they would give more notice of closure.

Nope, he is supposed to Stay if there is anything beyond cast change.
Yesterday I got some nice rumours from Russia(!!) that they are recasting for and open-ended run! And this is kinda helping me to beat last day in London... Seeing current cast #onelasttime tonight!

Is there are genuine chance this could literally just close after this week? If so i want to go this week.

No chance, it wont close at the end of this week. They wouldn't leave it literally a week when they are booking about two more months, that would be a refund nightmare. It will have a new cast and probably a 2017 booking extension announced within the next 5 days id expect. ... but go this week, just to see Phillipa in her role I anything!

Oh I saw her when i first saw it. I want to go back before it closes but the cast doesn't make much of a difference to me, if i go this week or wait another few months then i'll have pretty much a new cast (to me) anyway. So many have already changed since i went last year anyway.

Is this closing to make way for Lazarus? I want to try and catch it again before it does!

Is this closing to make way for Lazarus? I want to try and catch it again before it does! It definitely looks like Lazarus is has very similar performance times to In The Heights source: lazarusmusical.com/Bit worried about what is going to happen next week now. Would they bringin a new cast for only a month and a bit? EDIT: Been doing a bit more digging on that website and the tickets section states that Railway Children and In the Heights audiences should use the Goods Way entrance. This suggests that perhaps In The Heights is continuing. Does anyone know if these will be taking place in the same building at the same time?

Lazarus will be playing in a new space which will be built as an extension to the current King's Cross Theatre, meaning that ITH could well continue at the same time.

From what I know - those who leave:
Josie Benson, Camilla Emma Kingston, Vanessa Philippa Stefani, Daniela Cleve September, Sonny Eve Policarpou, Abuela (well, she was only back for a couple of weeks) Jocasta Almgill, Kimmy Edwards, Ryan Reid - for Dreamgirls Courtney-Mae Briggs, Alexzandra Sarmiento - for Strictly Ballroom, Leeds

Dex Lee is leaving for a play at the royal court.
Sarah Naudi posted on Twitter about her last Nina cover date, could be that she's leaving or just no longer cover Nina?

Found these 2 tweets which seem to give us some casting info. I know Damian Buhagiar was Sonny at Southwark, and the first tweet plus Sarah's about her final Nina date imply that Sarah is staying but playing a different character, maybe Daniela or Vanessa?

Baz just tweeted that Lin Manuel Miranda is house hunting in London this week, perhaps also the week he sees ITH London?

I wonder if, when Railway Children closes in January, if ITH were to continue, it would become a cheaper show to run? No having to tear down all the time, and maybe alter the schedule to more appealing performance times. Could bring in a whole new audience, perhaps. Wishful thinking, though. I suspect if it does extend, it'll close around the same time as The Railway Children. The Kings Cross Theatre itself will eventually close when Google starts work on their new HQ.

So the current cast leave the end of this week but new cast don't start till 16th...so what happens in between? Have they even got enough existing cast left to cover all the roles in the meantime?

So happy they extended! So sad I am in London only starting January 5 Well, at least that means 3 more "unexpected" "bonus" visits which is 3 times better than nothing!

By the time the show closes it will have been playing at that theatre for 1 year and 3 months. For a West End musical that is a really great run! Shame Lin-Manuel can't do a limited run as Usnavi for it's final few months!
