It will be a massive money spinner I’m sure. But SS is a very very poor imitation of the original.

She was really rather good in the original TV drama on which the stage version is based - winning several Best Actress Awards and being nominated for a handful more including a BAFTA and an international Emmy. I suspect it may be a relatively short run in a large theatre - perhaps the Palladium between Joseph and the pantomime.

Well this now goes to the top of my must see list for 2020. This is going to be massive especially after her performance in the TV drama.

I imagine this could be the same production as the Kenwright tour which was based on the TV show. It was very disjointed, and remember coming away thinking it needed a lot of work. Hope they’ve tidied it up, as it could be great, especially getting Sheridan back into the role. www.kenwright.com/portfolio/cilla-the-musical/

Kara Lily Hayworth was sublime in this, and gave a star-making turn in an otherwise quite average show. Not being the biggest Sheridan fan, I'll give this version a miss!

I agree that Kara was sublime in this when I saw her! Though I would still be intrigued to see Sheridan in it, if I can manage to get tickets that don't break the bank!

It was over-long I thought, but I enjoyed it too. Maybe they should have Kara playing young Cilla and SS picking up the latter years.

So with a baby due in the spring, she's going to be heading out on tour in September??
I wouldn't be surprised if this was postponed at some point.

The timing of this isn't great I'll admit. The little one will be 6 months old (approx) and will definitely be on tour with her.
I'll go, because I love her and thought her performance in the drama was exceptional. But I'm not sure how good thisll be (especially as it's Kenwright)

I think it's well thought through. Just a week at each venue apart from Liverpool so not committing to a long run meaning she will be able to spend time with a new baby and also all the other projects she has lined up. Might be wrong but dont think there will initially be a London run which is why I am going to have a trip to Brum

I’ll be booking for the opening night in Liverpool (hopefully I’ll be able to get a decent discount with my ATG card). Should be a great night out.

Anyone know the Alexandra in Birmingham? Looking for recommendations for good seats and any to avoid.

Good luck to her. i hope she gets lots of support and she wont be up all night, every night.

I'm a bit surprised she has committed to this. Is it the same show that toured a few years ago? I still think they need to do a follow up to the original TV series about Cilla with Sheridan from the late 1960's up to her TV comeback or even to her later years with Bobby. They could recreate some of the sketches from her 1970's TV series which Sheridan would be great at.

Well that was painless. Got a good stalls aisle seat for £61 right behind the £75 seats for the Friday performance in Birmingham. Now I need to wait for Birmingham Rep to announce what's on at the same time to see if I can add a matinee on the Saturday before heading back to London.

Just grabbed a £13 price promise seat for Birmingham. Side stalls, but I know the view isn't very restricted.
Surprised this is such a short tour, but I imagine it could go again in the near future.

The timing of this isn't great I'll admit. The little one will be 6 months old (approx) and will definitely be on tour with her. Sean Jones and Tracy Spencer Jones took their daughter on tour with them for Blood Brothers, from a very young age. They played Mickey and Mrs Lyons respectively, so had 8/9 shows a week. Tracy would vet potential babysitters a while in advance, or they had help from family and friends up and down the country. It is possible.

I’ll be booking for the opening night in Liverpool (hopefully I’ll be able to get a decent discount with my ATG card). Should be a great night out. Ticket sorted for the opening night in Liverpool. Frustratingly, I only got the Theatrecard email after I bought the ticket. Thankfully, with the £10 card discount applicable to the 2nd preview, I would of ended up in a worse seat that would of cost more anyway had I waited. I’m surprised there wasn’t the normal ATG card presale before the general sale this morning. Anyway, it should be a cracking atmosphere. I hope that “Our Graham” from blind date does the preshow phones/ recording spiel.
