So my friend whom I teamed up with via Twitter for the lottery, whilst I was not successful, he went and won 2 tickets for tonight!!
Can't wait to be back in the presence of Amber Riley (last time was the O2 for the Glee concert in 2009!!)

You'll love it. The singing is really out of this world. I'm seeing it again on Wednesday evening with one of the alternate Effies.

Never felt so old in my life and a very camp young man next to me just screamed at the top of his voice all night. I'd blocked it from my memory until now.

Sorry to ask guys but do I remember that Amber is not doing matinees or doing one and not the other?? Help please? I am coming up for the 7/12 performance "Unless otherwise notified on this site, Amber Riley will play the role of Effie White for 7 out of 8 performances per week. Currently the alternates Ruth Brown and Karen Mav will perform on Wednesday evenings" Just nabbed a front row grand circle seat for the Saturday matinee this week and really looking forward to seeing this! I also haven't seen Amber since Glee Live which for the record was in 2011 lol

I was at the Glee concert on the opening night in Manchester. It was campy, loud, colourful and sweaty - I loved every minute of it. Amber was the standout performer even back then.
Any more reviews from the show?

When I saw Glee! Live I just rocked up on the day (it was a matinee) and bought a single ticket and had an aisle seat about six rows from the front.
I appreciate the auto tuning, etc. but the I saw it Amber and Nayer sang River Deep, Mountain High and I don't know if this was a technical glitch or deliberate however for a second for two the sound went if and they were singing. From where I was I was close enough to not only be covered in glitter (in Loser Like Me) but to hear the vocals.

I won front row seats in a radio competition and I'm a total Lea Michele fangirl so being so close was fab. I really hope she does another show on Broadway or over here sometime soon.

Have to say I was a bit disappointed. What there was of it was very good but I don't think they were on stage for more then 50 minutes. I can't remember exactly how much I paid but it was quite a lot of money. Some rubbish warm up act I'd never heard of and then massive interval.

The support act was a dance troop including Cloud Campos who danced on Madonna's 'Confessions' tour and is in an advert where he cleans a room by dancing around with cloths etc attached to himself. I took my daughter to this and felt ridiculously cheated but theres no doubting that Lea Michele, Amber Riley & Naya Rivera were all great. Theres were the only vocals not obviously compressed & processed beyond all recognition.

Wow that was a sublime night at a musical, it was insane just how feel-good and sleek that was.
For a second preview I don't have any real commentary to critic. The vocals were clear and sound mix just spot on (I heard every word).
So yes was lucky in the Todaytix online lottery with the £15 front row seats!! It's a high stage but I absolutely loved it and nothing was obstructed (although if you get centre you will have the conductor in front of you!). I could see every facial expression (even the sweat flying in the ensemble dance numbers) and it was a privilege to experience it from the seats! My advice is enter lottery, it's so worth it!!
Now the cast are brilliant but this is Ambers show and boy does the Glee alumni sparkle - those vocals and all the emotion!!
'And I'm telling you' was so heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time (the audience went wild) and I love 'Listen' as a duet!
Now when I saw a film (which I will give another try) it was noticeable how thin the story is but on the stage this can be forgotten because you have goosebumps from its strong musical score and performers!
I like that the set is kept simple with excellent lighting.
The show goes past like a breeze, it's going to be massive and adored! Sonia (who was there) has a big hit on her hands. Oh spotted Claire Sweeney at the bar but she was upstaged by Gerald Butler (looking devilish handsome and rugged) being in the stalls!!
A stunning night, 5* I loved loved it!!

Was a couple of rows behind you, Westendclub. Love the set, especially wow at the end. Costumes are just terrific, male and female. Bling bling bling! Amber Riley is stunning in the role, as the lights went up in the interval I was drying tears -as were the 3 women next to me, and a woman in the row behind. She's not just voice, her performance really touched me. So good to see an audience rooting for the show, great buzz at the beginning. And how I loved Adam J Bernard as Jimmy Early - gave a great performance.
Few things need work, where the applause should fall naturally sometimes crashes into dialogue. But the positives - Amber - wow.
