Hey guys, I'm new here. I find this forum a great wealth of information though.
I didn't know Amber will not perform Wednesday's, as I haven't booked yet, I will try to avoid Wednesday's.
I have to say, as soon as I saw they were bringing Dreamgirl's to the west end I have been so excited. I have been waiting for years for it to happen and now I cannot wait at all! I'm trying to not get too excited as I don't want it to not live up to my expectations, but yes, I've waited for ages for this to happen.
ETA, forgot to add, the one thing that would really ruin it for me would be if Mica Paris were in it though! Lemar does sound like a good idea for casting though.

Terence Maynard could be a good option for Curtis?

I think I am going to book for this soon. Cheapest seats in the Upper Circle so not expecting a very good view but its the singing that counts more in this show anyway.

Terrance reads a bit older than Amber, who is still a teenager or in her early 20s.

Ah yes I know what you mean but I think he can do the same personality as Curtis very well and he'd be a good choice. However, I get you what mean. I'm trying to think when the cast will be announced and who will be included

Maybe Kelly Rowland could make her west end debut as Deena or Michelle Williams?!

Im the film, during 'And I Am Telling You' Jennifer Hudson throws her arms around so much its distracting.
I hope they coincide the London opening with same December date the original Broadway procuction had. 35 years ago!

Once you notice the arm waving, you'll never be able to see it the same way again I personally think it's the song that won it for her. She's not really been noticed in a film since.

I'm always distracted by that horrific two-piece she's wearing. With the flat pumps? I mean yeah, if they were making a point there they made it, loud and clear. So loud that I can hardly hear the song!

I hope they cast some really big names in Deena and Curtis' role in London! Be interesting to see who.. I really don't care either way, they already have Amber who can sell tickets. I don't mind if they cast someone who is perfectly suited to the role but failed to get their big break through. People train for years for this, so I kind of hope that someone I don't know comes along and blows me away.

If Ella Eyre was cast as Lorell, that could be quite good?

Alternate Effie will be Ruth Brown, according to Baz on twitter. She was apparently was on The Voice. Performing Wed eve, as we all know!
And there's a 3rd Effie, Karen Mav (who apparently was on The X Factor), who will "share Effie duties" on Wednesday evenings when Amber Riley is off in the afternoon and, I assume, Ruth Brown will take her place. Not sure when those dates are, but obviously no one is allowed to play this role twice in one day!!!

Sounds like a similar set up to Miss Saigon where when Eva was off, the alternate would become Eva, and the understudy would take the alternate shows (Thurs Eve and Sat Matinee)
