When you know who did it and why they did it then this restoration of the 1977 script just meanders along. Like the fading elegance of the sitting room its set in it just exists and you cant help but feel that its time has gone whilst still sort of enjoying what you are seeing. Characters and situations that you know and love from the book/tv are missing and it just lacked that certain spark to kick it into life. Judy Cornwell is Miss Marple and the supporting cast is mainly people you have never heard of aside from the Eastenders and The Bill long runners.
Another pass at the script with the injection of more actual incident could have made this a very enjoyable romp but as it is its a league below the works of The Agatha Christie Touring Company, which probably isn't a strong recommendation.
6/10 - Flawed, dated but entertaining enough.
