I was witness to a potential abduction outside my partner's flat.
It was very surreal, and I wondered if I was making something out of nothing. Rang my partner (who was at work), and he also felt it was off.
So rang police - and I was the second person to ring it in. Luckily I had a pic of the car and reg.
It wasn't a snatch and go, like snatched off the street bundled into the back of a van - it looked like the woman was firmly coerced into the car.
I'll probably never find out if it was something, but glad I rang police.

I'm working on my confidence and putting myself out there now to try and make friends, as that's something I've struggled with throughout my life (not realising it was because I was neurodiverse until recently, but at least I'm aware of it now and can support myself accordingly.)
The first step was joining virtual groups like this one, but I've now joined a choir, and I'm doing a West End Outings event, so hoping this will help me in the coming weeks/months.
Autumn really feels like a new start which is lovely. 🍂

Started a new job 5 days ago. Had the Manager add something to my computer today and in the little office I share with 2 or 3 others I said I'd give him some space and would spread my legs. Meant *stretch my legs*. He either didn't hear or decide not to comment, and the other two didn't clock it either ... tonight will be a large glass of wine. How I kept my cool I'll never know.

It is astounding how the wrong words just pop out of your mouth at the worst possible time!
I have been a massive fan of Fascinating Aida since the 1980s. I finally got to meet them and - to my eternal embarrassment - announced that "they never fail to disappoint", absolutely the opposite of what I was trying to convey. Never disappoint / never fail to entertain / whatever, I f'd-up majorly.
Never talk to your idols. As someone, disputed as to whom, once said "It is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
There. I've said it. First step on the road to redemption. Maybe Dillie, Adele, and whoever is the 3rd will eventually forgive me.

I once met Rachel Tucker and told her how much I liked her Scottish accent, even though I knew full well she's Irish. Oh, the embarrassment.

I had the most horrendous week at work, and took this whole weekend to recharge myself for the coming week.
Cleaned the bathroom.
Performed fragments of 'Hamilton' to my puzzled partner, whilst dumping a lot of info on him.

Mixed day at work. Started off hilarious, many laughing fits. I'm so glad this is possible in our office from time to time.
But in the afternoon it all went downhill.
An early night for me tonight.

So the medical thing I thought was a THING isn’t a thing at all. I feel like I’m dodging potholes all the time.

Well, I’m supposed to be arriving in Leeds now for today’s matinee of A raisin in the sun. Unfortunately due to cast illness it’s been cancelled so I’m currently in Manchester Psccadilly waiting for a train home instead. On a positive note at least I got the notification early on or I’d have made it to Leeds for a wasted journey.

I'm afraid the 3 hour running time persuaded me to change my mind. I've just finished 4 hours overtime instead. We will go to same performance one day!

TallPaul , the 3hr run time was a shock to me as well (I did wonder how long a preview show was). Had a phone call with a member of the box office team and a refund sorted. We will meet up one day I’m sure.

Unfortunately due to cast illness it’s been cancelled so I’m currently in Manchester Psccadilly waiting for a train home instead. On a positive note at least I got the notification early on or I’d have made it to Leeds for a wasted journey. I was due to see the matinee today, too. I was meeting a friend for lunch first and then heading solo to the theatre. Somewhere en route I tweaked something (I’m self-diagnosing a trapped sciatic nerve!) which must have been exacerbated by sitting, so by the time I got to Leeds walking was pretty painful and slow. I limped along to the pub and we had a good lunch and catch up. I then decided that discretion was the better part of valour and phoned the box office to see if I could swap my ticket for another time, only to be told the performance had been cancelled. I’d been reading the play on the train so hadn’t seen the email they’d sent at 11.26am. At least it meant I didn’t have to make an on the spot decision about an alternative and got to spend longer with my friend. Shambled back to the station for the train home and by the time I got off my walking was pretty much back to normal, thankfully. I’m wondering if the evening performance was cancelled too and whether next week might also be impacted. I’m mulling over whether to try again go for the Thursday matinee or take the refund. I’d be sorry to miss it as I’ve never seen it before…

I did manage to get my theatre fix for today though - back home 3 hours earlier than planned so I availed of my Times+ free access to NT at Home and enjoyed watching The Effect - some weighty themes leavened by humour and combined with stellar performances.

After the despicable way the department I work in was treated by our (American) CEO and senior executive team, I now have the Sunday Blues.
I normally enjoy my work, but I do not enjoy working for this company anymore.
They might be in for a shock the next few months, and realise Europeans do not take an American approach very well, and find themselves left with only half a department.

I bought a front row centre ticket for the LesMis Belfast, for the last performance, 12 months ago. Having started a new job which, 4 weeks in I'm hating, I dithered about going - shifts meant I wasn't going to make the long weekend I planned a year ago - but I felt I needed the buzz.
There was a member of staff at the front of the Arena greeting attendees with a mic (big Belfast accent here) - "Hello Ladies, you're all looking FABULOUS" - "Have a great time you two, big smiles on your faces" etc. Spots me. "OOOOOOO NOOOOOO - are you all on your OWN? Is it just YOU"? I make the mistake of acknowledging that, yes, I am on my own, it was, in fact, just me. "Oh, well then" he said, struggling for something positive "I suppose you don't have to buy anyone else drinks, eh?".....
My 07.45 flight back to Stansted was - 3.5 hours delayed. I'd got there at 05.45, busy, noisy, crowded and my head was set to explode. About a dozen of us found seats at one of the unused gates for the quiet. Bloke next to me got his mobile phone out and started playing different podcasts. Couple of minutes of this one, skip to another, skip to another ... I said "excuse me do you not have earphones"? He said "sorry" and stopped. Worship at my feet!

Lovely day at work today. I work at headquarters for County Council library service and unpack and receipt all the new books before they get sent out to the libraries. Always fun, but today was a special treat as the librarians at the City Library had bought a special order of plays! I am also a library customer, so can issue books to myself too (as long as they aren’t reserved already by someone else!) ….was like a kid in a candy shop!

I can add another condition to the list - I'm a fully fledged diabetic type II as well now.
Starting medication tomorrow.
It is the 'lifestyle diabetes' - if I work hard at it, I can bring numbers back down to a healthier level.
A combination of stress and sticking my head in the sand led to this, I had warnings.
My feet will be happy, as I now need to pamper them regularly to keep them healthy. Currently they look like they belong to something that sweeps in from the sky abducting small children and animals.

A nice positive end to the working day today with being offered a promotion to the departmental management team of the lab where I work. So after a couple of weeks where it just seemed everyday was constantly firefighting problems, it is nice to have something positive to deal with.
