Interesting but it's a shame the prices are that of a full West-End show pretty much, yes I understand a 30 piece Orchestra and high-profile cast members singing will not be cheap but it's unlikely to have any set etc. Cheapest are £19 in the back of the upper circle, I do wonder how well this will sell and could be offers, comps.

I am still yet to book 'The Girls' but I did give the cast recording a few listens when it first got released on Spotify and there were some strong numbers on it I thought but not throughout!

Who saw this on Broadway, it got canned I remember fairly quickly after it opened I recall.

Based on the hit 1992 film starring Sarah Jessica Parker, and Nicholas Cage, Honeymoon in Vegas tells the story of mild-mannered Brooklynite, Jack, who haunted by the fear of a promise to his dying mother never to get married, avoids proposing to his new girlfriend Betsy. He finally summons the nerve and takes Betsy to Las Vegas only to have his plans compromised by a dashing gambler with an eye for luxury and Jack’s new fiancée.



The New York Times called the Broadway production “ bright and bouncy…real-live, old-fashioned, deeply satisfying Broadway musical in a way few new shows are anymore.”



Honeymoon in Vegas – book by Andrew Bergman and score by Tony-Award winning Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Songs For A New World, The Last Five Years and The Bridges of Madison County) — ran on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre and this concert will see it performed in London for the very first time.

Unless there are people in it I really want to see I am not forking out big money for this. Upper circle is cramped beyond belief and stalls and DC are very expensive.

I saw it on Broadway, it's a nice enough romcom, reminded me of Copacabana. I can't remember that much about it which isn't a great sign. I think it's something that would benefit from a set/costume/staging as the story travels about a bit and features skydiving elvis impersonators at one point and a bizarre voodoo sequence. It's the sort of thing I'd see at the Southwark Playhouse but I won't jump at the chance of a concert.

It's a very funny show and JRB's score is sensationally strong, showing him in a whole new light. It had a short run on Broadway but it got good reviews including a rave from the Times.

The blurb doesn't seem to say if it's just the songs or will include the dialogue read by the cast?

I would love to see this, but can't as it is on a Sunday night. It's a shame that they aren't doing a matinee. Well, this could lead to a production somewhere (like the Southwark Playhouse?)

I failed to read the blurb kindly posted by westendcub and hadn't realised it was the LMTO until their email arrived in my inbox today. I really enjoyed their State Fair and A Christmas Carol last year and will try and go to this one too if I can clear something else in my diary.

Was happy to see they're also doing Candide in July (back at Cadogan Hall where State Fair was staged) - tickets are somewhat less than the Palladium and I've booked for that one already.

I tried the cast recording yesterday and it did nothing for me, I am beginning to think I only enjoy dramatic sad emotional scores LOL

A friend involved says the cast is to be announced Wednesday and to either book now or at least be prepared to grab them Wednesday morning as they anticipate it selling out once that happens. Wouldn't be pushed on who they had but apparently they are big.

Simon Lipkin will appear as Buddy alongside Maxwell Caulfield (Tommy), Rosemary Ashe (Bea) and Nicolas Colicos (Johnny).

The supporting roles will be played by Daniel Amity, Maisey Bawden and Hywell Dowsell.

You had me at "Simon Lipkin", but seeing "Rosemary Ashe and Nicolas Colicos" on the cast list too makes things even more interresting.

Buddy is a great role for Lipkin, he's the unctuous Las Vegas lounge singer who sings the show's theme song, When You Say Vegas. He'll also double as Roy, the head of the Elvis impersonators in Act Two. A real tour de force.

What's the Palladium like for shutting the top deck and upgrading? Looking at sales, if they're in the habit of doing it, I reckon you're in with a good chance! Will also be there, Dress Circle.

Ahaha even better then. In honesty, everytime I have been to the Palladium (5 times) it has been packed out every performance so I couldn't really give a true estimation haha.

Just looked at the website, not even half the tickets are sold on any level... so I wouldn't be surprised if they upgraded those on the Upper to the Dress and Stalls.
