This will go OT rather quickly, but it's an interesting one, isn't it. Does the theatre worry more about making sure that those who paid for membership get what they want, or about pulling in potential new audiences. They did push membership fairly consistently before booking opened, as most places do, and maybe they have been caught out by the take-up for Caroline, or Change.( I can't imagine they're surprised that Lear with Ian McKellen is selling out in the small space, but, as I say OT.)

Is this really an especially interesting one? Demand has substantially exceeded supply and the same number of people would be disappointed however the tickets were sold. If mrslovettsmeatpie had been allowed to purchase a ticket, this would have been at the expense of one of Chichester's dear friends. Peace and love!

In the past certain productions have appeared sold out but then extra tickets are released. Also, there is always the possibility of returns. I've managed to get a ticket to sold out productions in the past just by persevering and constantly logging onto the website.
Optimist that I am I shall be attempting to go online tomorrow in the hope there will be some tickets left for what I want to see.

Frankly astonished by take up for Caroline, when was last time a Chichester show sold out before general booking opened? I will atill look in the morning, you never know😌 |

I wish they'd bring Caroline Or Change to the West End. It's Daniel Evans running Chichester now, don't forget. He wanted everything at Sheffield to transfer, but little if anything did. Now he's at Chichester, the Theatre King/Queen of Transfers, he will have many, many chances. If you look at the season, it's nearly ALL designed to transfer to London. |

Yep, 100% sold out, nothing held back for public booking. "Watch the website for returns" they say, like a trip to Chichester can be easily slotted in on a whim with only a few days notice for the majority of people in the UK. BOOOOOOOOO.

There is a ticket on there now for May 13th evening, if you want to bag it? I'm going to check daily for matinee returns, since getting back from Chichester in the evening is not an option. |
