Might go for cheap(ish) seats for Life Of Galileo, but otherwise there's not much else there of interest to me, there's obviously a big audience for Yerma, I thought they would have found somewhere bigger for it to transfer to but that stage design is not the sort of thing you can just put in the average West-End theatre.

I'll probably go to all the main house productions, as you can get decent enough seats for a tenner no matter what configuration they go for, and I probably won't bother with the Maria or Clare (I hate general admission) or Yerma (already saw it). All things considered, someone remind me that trying to buy tickets on the very day booking opens is probably going to be a painful experience and I should hold off for a bit!

I am intrigued by everything actually, apart from Yerma that I have already seen. This is not exactly the best period to save: booking at the Young Vic on the 1st February and at the Almeida on the 2nd...

It also played in Newcastle and Belfast straight after Edinburgh, I think with local community choruses. And the same production is being staged again this spring at the Royal Exchange where it could be quite thrilling in the round. Anyone know the configuration at the Young Vic? As the show is an ATC co-production, I'm hoping that the short Young Vic run is part of an autumn tour. |

How To Win Against History is amazing. I saw it when it was a work-in-progress at Ovalhouse, so much fun but poignant too. Great to see the dancing marquis back in the limelight! Ten years ago, Marc Rees made a theatrical solo dance show about him, Gloria Days. |

I am tepid towards the new season, by what I mean nothing really jumps out at me, apart from How To Win Against History.
Thought they might play it safe and replicate their very successful A View From A Bridge/A Streetcar Named Desire programming but obviously with 2 other classic American play. Or maybe another Broadway musical, like they did with Scottsboro Boys, Fun Home would be awesome there.

How To Win Against History is amazing. I saw it when it was a work-in-progress at Ovalhouse, so much fun but poignant too. A rave from me as well, my very late yearly roundup in the general thread had it in my top few musicals, beating out more high profile shows. |

Their info on Galileo is very limited, no actor or director credited even though they know what the set will look like. I hope they're not hiding the fact Richard Jones will direct (just a joke .... For me only three of them really appeal and two are the musicals. How to win against history sounds like a good new musical , Nina sounds like it could be proimseing,and Wings because I saw Juliet in Mary Stuart and she was great and will see her in hamlet, she is a great actress and this that play also sounds interesting.
I would have liked it if they did do a few more classic shows or maybe even classic musicals.

The Life of Galileo is a modern classic play. |

The Young Vic is a director led theatre, any classic is likely to be radically worked on, as with its straight play revivals. How to Win Against History is not a traditional musical, it is very meta, it makes a virtue of its ramshackle shabbiness, it looks deliberately amatuer (mirroring the theatre attempts of its protagonist) it is the sort of show that is at home in the BAC rather than the Southwark or the Union theatres, let alone the West End Agree that anything that matches Josette Bushell Mingo and Nina Simone looks pretty tasty. |

Finding it annoying that I can't check details of the new season (prices, times, general info) without getting shoved in a queue. General sale for Yerma isn't until next week but I have to brave a queue of at least 200 people before being allowed through to the page. Is this the priority bookers scrumming before the general sale?
Debating whether to go and see Yerma; I studied it recently at uni and found it intriguing. Just not a big fan of Billie Piper - her character on Doctor Who irritated me to no end.
