Besides "The Threepenny Opera", I remember that they had also announced "Sunset at Villa Thalia", written by Alexi Kaye Campbell and "The ploughman and the stars", written by Seán O'Casey and directed by Howard Davies.

Although as those have been announced already (not including The Red Barn), I'll be extremely disappointed if this morning's announcements focuses on them. Well, some casting would be handy too, I suppose. And I wouldn't say no to more children's shows, as long as they're a little more I Want My Hat Back and a little less wonder.land.

I would've thought they'd try and schedule The Plough and the Stars for Easter to fit in with the 100th Anniversary of the Easter Rising, as they're doing at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin (which I'm seeing, and will no doubt end up being ashamed of British history once again). |

This year's big family show will be announced today. Will it be more of an "off-the-shelf" affair, I wonder? Or maybe Kanye West, Anthony Neilson and Ned Bennett will collaborate on an original musical response to Pigling Bland in the Olivier for four months?

Well, National Theatre, all is forgiven after the less-than-exciting past few months. Twelfth Night, Young Chekhov, Angels in America, Peter Pan, Hedda Gabler... I know where my money will be going in the next year or so!
