The theme they're going for is a troupe of Vaudeville performers.

I'm looking to drive here to watch a Sunday show - is theatre easy to get too or do I have to compete for road space with the trams - which quite frankly terrifies me 😱?

We usually go to a Sunday show. Just avoid a day when Man City are at home as car park and roads nearby get full. Otherwise it's a pretty easy drive, tram tracks not too troublesome. Small car park for Hope Mill but if you get there an hour before you'll be fine usually. Its a lovely place with great people. Enjoy the bar

They're doing a numbered token system for getting people seated now (I suggested this on Facebook so I'm totally taking the credit for it, just as I'm solely responsible for the SWP going to allocated seating because I emailed them, once 😬) so getting there nice and early has its advantages. When you arrive go to the bar and they'll tick you off their list and give you your token.

Some interesting stuff about Hope Mill in this interview with producer Katy Lipson - including her saying that she hopes to be able to transfer Pippin to London as she has with both Yank! and Hair bit.ly/2wnVuUp

I could see it taking over the Charing Cross Theatre like Yank did, once Woman in White closes in February.

I mean, if that's what Brad Judge wants to go onto stage wearing, I'm game.

Just in from the first preview of this and I am so pleased to report that it was in really good shape. Superb singing - although at times the band was a bit loud. A great Pippin and Leading Player - both excellent. Lovely harmony singing from the chorus too - it is such a great score.
Really effective staging and choreography. Lots to see.
The Grandmother almost stole the show!
It really is a great evening. Those boys at Hope Mill have got another cracker!

How is the seating arranged anniel ? It's a (cough) thrust! Quite a long thrust with the band on stage at the back of it ( not by the lighting desk as usual). Audience on 3 sides. We were lucky enough to get seats at the front but there is a lot to see at all sides.

Does anyone remember the new song that was in the Menier version?? I really liked it and would like to hear it again. I wonder why they abandoned it.

I don't (shame on me!) who sang it and at what point in the the show ? Please and ta 😄 It was near the beginning, I think most of the cast sang it. It was something to do with family the lyrics I remember were 'back in the bosom of the family.' It replaced a song but I'm not 100% sure which one.

Brilliant. Thank you!!! I thought I was going mad as I couldn't find anything on Google. Also Googling Pippin and Bosom is not something I want my browser history full of.
