About 80% full I'd say. I sat in Row R, no one was sat behind me, and there was patches here and there of empty seats. But responsive audience, partial standing ovation.

Good. It's a shame this one hasn't done that well. The name means nothing to most people and they don't have much advertising.
When I was there, the back five rows were empty (apart from someone involved in the show I think - people kept walking back from the front section to talk to him.)
Hopefully they'll have a good rest of the year.

I actually had a feeling the back few rows were not sold to the public at all anyway, for whatever reason. Because it was strange not one person had booked those back rows. But about midway through the first half, a man did come in and sit at the back of the theatre, the very back row, so maybe he too has to do with the show!

I wish I could see what that bar at the back is like!

Do go to see this gem of a show if you haven't already.(Only 4 performances left!). Don't be put off by the title, it's absolutely beautiful, both musically and visually and has a fantastic cast! James Gant and Zoe Doano are sheer perfection, gorgeous voices and so convincing in this unusual romance. I know many people have been back several times, including myself 3 times and if I didn't live 200 miles away I'd happily see it again!
DON'T MISS IT!!!

Has anyone seen both Chris Peluso and James Gant? Any preference?

Yes I've seen both and prefer James Gant. His portrayal is perhaps a little more reserved but this suits the role I think and his relationship with Zoe(Grazia) is really touching. He also brings out a lot of the humour of the piece through his facial expressions, which are just wonderful. He gives a masterclass in acting and his powerful and expressive voice is superb.
Wish I could see it again!

I have become quite a fan of James Gant. Unfortunately I was unable to catch him in the lead in this (I saw Chris Peluso), but there is something about him that makes me watch him all the time he is on stage.

I finally saw the show last night after enjoying the cd for a couple of years now. The music is wonderful and I totally agree with chrismis regarding the cast and visuals - the Charing Cross have done it again with a great production. Theatre not very busy and a rather dead audience! Not many applauding at the end and just a handful standing. This season has been excellent and if Thom Sutherland carries on like this, hopefully their name will start to bring more punters in for other productions. How about Maury Yeston's Phantom???

I saw the show twice and entirely agree with chrismis about the perfect casting of James Gant and Zoe Doano as Death and Grazia. They both have wonderful singing voices, and their diction in the spoken dialogue was crisp and clear. I hadn't heard of this musical before and was intrigued by the unusual story. The casting of the show was perfect, sets and costumes very attractive. All in all, a very enjoyable and absolutely beautiful musical.
