Yes, I think it must have been you I saw then! You didn't seem too gushing and Maury didn't look too scared

Maury Yeston was there again this afternoon hanging out in the lobby waiting for friends so I took the opportunity to tell him how much I loved all his shows and had a nice little conversation with him. The fact that he was so friendly and charming will, of course, not be reflected in my review of Death Takes A Holiday (Yeah, right). I was there this afternoon too - I may have seen you taking to Maury on my way out! Very much enjoyed it. Clearly an odd premise but once you go along with the central idea it works really well. First visit to the Charing Cross Theatre, a great space! Hope they continue in the same vein rather than returning to the days of "Dusty" etc. Used the TodayTix rush deal - seats were in row R. Small theatre with a good rake so the view was excellent. Bargain for £10 (I had £10 thanks to someone using my £10 off referral code SEZCE ) No way! I had a little chat with him as well haha! Where were your badges? too bad I only just found out youre TheatreBoard members

Was at press night yesterday. This is sort of "Aspects of Death" to look at. An interesting idea, with some really strong moments and some really weak dialogue. As it's likely to be the only chance to see it, I'd try, if you think you are any sort of musical theatre aficionado.
I wouldn't disagree with that, TM, but I have to say the production was very strong, about as good as this show will ever get, and the two leads - Chris Peluso and Zoe Doano - were AMAZING! In fact the entire cast was great. I would totally recommend seeing it.

I loved it. And also, I love James, and i'm so curious how he will be as Sirki. Chris did a great job in my opinion, and as imo the two of them are so different, I can't wait to see the difference.

Well. For those who love a bit of chair action in their musicals, you're in for a treat.
I rather enjoyed it. Couldn't hum you a tune from it although when I do think about it, for some reason I start going into 'Til I Hear You Sing' from 'Love Never Dies'. Anyhoo, it's all rather romantic and a bit sprightlier than I thought it would be, there's a touch of humour in amongst it all, mainly courtesy of James Gant as Fidele. Some nice frocks and a terrific cast though. Zoe Doano is just lovely - a terrific looker and a lovely singer, I hope she gets a few more leading roles but it's all about The Peluso. Smashing to look at and nicely played, he manages to convey that he's not quite of this world rather well, but that voice. Oh my. It's like having a gigantic Galaxy bar melted all over you. When he belts out or hits the high notes, it's like the gift that keeps giving but he's also as soft as cashmere. I'll even forgive the hideously long trousers in his first costume.
Also nice to see Trudi Camilleri back after her sterling efforts in 'Ragtime'. She has got just the tiniest feet.

Ryan, you're so right about Chris Peluso and the not-of-this-world thing. He plays it perfectly, utterly convincing, and it's because of that that we buy into the concept. He makes the whole show work. I'll second you on his voice too - Wow!!

Saw the matinee today. Loved it. The score is more like Phantom and less like Titanic and must be the most lush score in London. Lovely song after lovely song. Music to get lost in.
And Chris Peluso. Wow. Utterly believable and what a voice. Someone cast him in something else, quick, before he goes back to the states!
It wasn't perfect and there were a few week moments (and the end was a bit sudden!) but it was such a nice couple of hours. If I was an actor, is just love to be in this and singing these songs...
I was also really happy to see the Charing Cross nearly full! It's usually not even half capacity when I'm there so I'm pleased this new model seems to be working.

Was also at the matinee today. I really loved this, thought the staging and cast was perfect, just ignore the slightly clunky plot. Must also give Chris Peluso a mention. He really is something special, the tone of his voice is fantastic, and I really want to hear some more. Anyone know of any CD!s or OST's he has sung on?

I have to agree with the comments on him though, he plays the otherworldly thing perfectly, and what a voice. I could happily listen to him sing I Thought That I Could Live all day.

It may not be a great idea to do a musical based on a car crash, you are leaving yourself open. However this is no car crash, but rather a charming little musical, with some great soaring score, however the book seemed to be overly convoluted and a strange piece like Grey Garden was.
Magnificent stage design complemented this piece and I mention this only, because I know the limitations of the Charing Cross theatre. i really enjoyed Chris Peluso more than I have done before, but then again he stood out in a very good cast, This certainly expunged that awful Ragtime production and was a breathe of fresh air.

I just bought some for later in the week. I had planned to wait for Rush Tickets but this was easier!

Also worth pointing out that these tickets can be booked either on the app or on the todaytix website, unlike the rush tickets which I think are only bookable through the app.

Thanks for heads up on offer was waiting on rush ticket time for tonight and have used the offer instead got seat in Row D bit closer than normal be interesting to see the show from there. Also booked to take my Mom later in the week. Booked to see this for £15 through Today Tix. My seat price is usually £32.50! Very pleased!

It seems I missed out on all the £15 tickets. Apart from 1 ticket tomorrow, none left. Hopefully they'll run the same offer next week. It's obviously not selling well.
