Looks like Natasha's been brought in - she's doing the matinee today 🤔

Its kinda annoying me that someone thinks they are being kind by saying their friend loves Sheridan so much they are crying she isn't on, when it probably just makes Sheridan feel more sh*t than she already does.

I can't decide whether to go and see this next week. There are never any bloody discounts in Nottingham and don't know if I want to see it enough to pay full price! Do fellow theatre-boarders recommend going to it?

We're going to the matinee on Saturday so I will let you know what I think. Disappointed Sheridan isn't going to be on but it can't be helped.

Do fellow theatre-boarders recommend going to it? I saw it in Glasgow last week and loved it. Thought Natasha was fantastic, but wasn't as impressed with Darius, his diction was really poor so I struggled to understand him.

Poor old Sheridan. Hope she makes a speedy recovery. In fact a very speedy one please as I am due to see her on the 24th in Southend. How long does mumps take to clear in an adult?
If she is not better there will be a ticket up for grabs and I will be able to join you for west end live.

Just had an email stating that the Venue Cymru leg (Llandudno) has been cancelled at the request of the producers. No other reason stated. Refunds will be forthcoming in the next 10 days.

Well we saw Natasha on Saturday in Bradford and she was pretty amazing to be honest. Lots of what seemed like ad libbing, firstly when she sat down a bit hard on Darius's knee and then when her moustache wouldn't stay put and she ended up sticking it on her forehead. We were in the balcony and once or twice it was a bit difficult to follow a small part of the dialogue, but not enough to spoil it for us. I thought the whole production was fantastic.

That moustache on forehead thing happens every show, however the beauty of it is, everyone thinks it doesn't.

Natasha confirmed to replace Sheridan in Southend due to mumps. Is that for the Southend run next week? If so I am gutted as was travelling there to see it but had a feeling that mumps would take a while to clear up.

If so I am gutted as was travelling there to see it but had a feeling that mumps would take a while to clear up. Just checked the Cliffs Pavilion website and it now shows Natasha. Would have been nice if they had put something to say that Sheridan Smith was ill but the Web page just shows details and bio for Natasha.

Oh no! Well at least Natasha is on and to cover, and hopefully Sheridan will be able to do the last venues of the tour.

Next up for Sheridan would be Cardiff which is me but I won't really mind if she's off as long as Natasha's there, sounds like she's just as fabulous. I just really want to finally see the show after hearing Idina Menzel sing Don't Rain On My Parade so much and watching Rachel Berry bang on about the show for 6 seasons of Glee.

Natasha is great, but as you can guess I have a soft spot for Sheridan which is why I am disappointed. I might bow out and go to West End Live instead now.

Ouch! Poor Sheridan. I had mumps once. It really is the pits.
It's the one and only time in my life I've not appreciated a swollen gland.

Of course there's the usual few complaining about Sheridan being off on facebook. With one saying perhaps she called out because "she doesn't fancy a week in Southend. Not a true professional is she?" I had some little polite rants to try to set them straight 😂

Saw the Southend matinee today, felt like the full West End production rather than a cut down version for touring. Natasha definitely belts out the big notes far more confidently than Sheridan but I was surprised her interpretaton was so similar - v consistent direction for both leads, I guess.
Did occasionally miss Sheridan's comedy chops and timing, she sold so many character moments so well but Natasha had everyone on their feet at the end. Glad I've ended up seeing both leads.

Oh I was so disappointed today. Venue awful (Cliffs Pavilion Southend). Looks lovely. Big venue by the sea, lots of bars and eating places and outdoor seating but inside.... stalls are on an arena floor so no rake at all. Flip down seats with no padding. Result was I could see almost nothing. Lots of talking during overture and during musical numbers, someone even had a baby with them who was crying. Liked the staging and there were some minor changes with new ensemble costumes and backdrop for Don't rain on my parade. Also some new choreography. Natasha was fine and rest of cast were ok. Understudy on for Darius for which no announcement made or notification given. He was not good I'm afraid. Orchestra were great and sounded amazing. Voices over amplified quite a bit which was not necessary. And so as a result, did something I never do. I left at the interval and came back to London. So disappointed as I could have been at West end live.

Flip down seats with no padding 'Awful' is very harsh on the Cliffs. It is a big room and does have a lot of flat seating before the back tier but I've never heard it called awful before. Great acoustics (wood-lined, top to bottom), lovely FOH and BO staff, massive stage, loads of bar/refreshments/toilets, good leg room etc.

However great acoustics are not any good if you can't see anything unless you are at an orchestral concert. Unfortunately I had not purchased the ticket myself as it was part of a group booking so did not know that there was no rake to the main stalls seating. If I had known I would have bought a dress circle seat. So from where I sat I'm afraid it was awful.

Massive stage? All shows I've seen there have had to be downsized
