Judging by Theatre Monkey, the Day Seat line hasn't been as crazy as we all thought, with the most reported by the time of opening being 15 people, and that was a Saturday! I am guessing all of the Sheridan fans would of brought their tickets early assuming that there either wouldn't be Day Seats or it would be a massive stress?
I'm gonna aim to Day Seat before the Summer for sure, once the tourists come in it will be busier I assume so don't wanna run into that craziness!

A friend of mine today turned up at 12pm on the off-chance and managed to buy the last day seat for tonight! So I'm also re-thinking my day seat strategy for this!!

Just going to mention it even though it was going to be my plan, but since I'll probably only go once it's silly to not share. I've only checked for one performance so far so don't know if it's happening every day but the unsold day seats were online for £25. I know it's more expensive but it saves the trek into London earlier in the day. If anyone wants to work out what time they go online and if they do always go on sale and so on, please do. That's how I got my Guys and Dolls ticket so I think it's a Savoy thing.

I'm staying optimistic that the day queue won't get ridiculously busy for this - I don't think the summer will affect it all that much as I doubt it'll be top of many tourists' lists of shows to see (Sheridan's not really a huge name outside the UK), so hopefully when I do find a free Saturday to queue I won't have to get up at 5am!
Thank goodness for theatremonkey's updates!

I wouldn't take that as a given, Sheridan has a lot of younger fans who would be on school/college holidays, so will therefore be able to dayseat during the summer.

Agree, I too can see day seat queue picking up in the holidays!

If there are really that many young fans wanting to dayseat I'd have expected the weekend queues to be busier...

10 in line by 10am, got centre seat in front row! Oooh. The perfect spot to see Sheridan's Fanny up close. Enjoy. I know I know. It's an easy gag. The Mrs Slocombe in me was just too strong.

10 in line by 10am, got centre seat in front row! Enjoy! Looks as if 8.30am will probably be ok for the day queue for this, I can cope with that - it's a lot later than I arrived when I queued when Nicole Scherzinger was in Cats and Kerry Ellis was in Wicked!

Thinking about the Sunset saga and Sheridan kind of setting a precedent for exchanges when she was, understandably, off at the Menier, I wonder what they'd do if she was off unexpectedly at the Savoy.

I have pondered this myself and am very interesting to see what will happen if the situation does arise

Also to answer the question about whether the recording will be live or studio. It's a studio recording, some of the cast have been posting photos

So I finally saw this tonight and, well, WOW! SHERIDAN SMITH!
I have never seen Sheridan live before but I have been a long time fan of her on Film and TV so I was desperate to see her in this, and she did not disappoint. She is hilarious, touching, heartbreaking... and, in my opinion, a powerhouse voice! Whoever said about speak-singing, she was full out singing tonight and hitting those big belts hard! Such an awe-inspiring performance.
The entire cast is amazing, as well as the set and design, it was a brilliant night out with great music and I can't wait to go again! The House was Full and I was quite shocked at the audience response. Considering it was a mainly older crowd, I was stunned to hear applause and cheers well before songs were finished and a full standing ovation all at once at the end, was a great atmosphere. If you can only see one show this year, this has to be it.

I'm twice at Chocolate Factory so don't plan on seeing at Savoy but glad it sounds like it's only enhanced since going on to a bigger stage & space!! What are your thoughts on Darius performance? I personally thought he was a marvel and it's finally his time to show the West-End what he's got in what is no doubt a big hit!! Bring on the cast recording!!

It took me a second to get on board with him (I dunno why though) but after that, great! I can now see what it is abiut Sheridan that everyone loves. She really has something about her that draws you in. The twinkle in her eye, the constsnt eye contact with audience members etc... she is brilliant at holding her audience capitvated throughout!

Is this selling out at the Savoy? It's hard to go by the ATG website as they show only what they want to show/the allocation they have, but it certainly seems to be the biggest seller on the ATG website at the moment, with just single pairs in the stalls/DC and a small selection in the UC, (though for some there's none up there either!) for lots of upcoming performances, with just under half of performances in May showing as 'Sold Out' altogether. August is the first month where no performances show as 'Sold Out'. When booking tickets, a notice pops up saying 'Best Availability From June' so I think we should give credit where credit is due and say that it is incredibly well sold, maybe even a complete "sold-out run"!!

I should also mention, as I know people ask, the stage is high. From the front row, the smallest cast member (which ironically is Sheridan) when she is at the back of the stage, can only be seen from the waste up. And I am close to 6ft tall so if I could only see from the waist up I don't know what others thought. But I found it totally worth it to be that close to the show and her in the performance, it makes it feel incredibly intimate.
