The house full sign last night indicated there were no sales issues yesterday. Of course it being WEL may have bumped attendance.

we may as well change the title of this thread to George22 as it has absolutely nothing to do with the show itself anymore :L I'm holding off on dayseating in case Sheridan does come back in July, but I will see it at some point. Until then I can only read with amusement and chip in with suggestions for restaurants near the Savoy...

Edit: apologies for derailing the thread again, I haven't been online in a while and hadn't seen that there were two more pages after the post I quoted! Just felt that I had to put my views on record as well. But mods, please feel free to delete if you prefer. It's not obsession. If you really knew me in real life, it's not all this crazy, weird thing that people think it might be. Okay I might go on abit but she is my favourite actress. So sorry if I do go on though, I don't want you to think of me as some weird stalker because I'm really not. I'm fairly young too so it's not even anything that big I'm fairly young myself and very much young enough to remember my very early twenties. I don't see age having much to do with it. It is coming over as an obsession, it's great that you love theatre and musicals, but the Sheridan fixation is a bit much for me and it is coming over as obsession and to me a bit stalker like. I've had some experience in that and in all honesty, people who are don't often even realise they are either obsessed or beginning to stalk. We all have a favourite actress, or sports person etc, she may be yours, but as I said, and I'm not being horrible here, but it does make me feel uncomfortable from time to time. I have to admit this is how it comes across to me as well, and the thing about contacting a producer pushed it over the edge for me from you just being an over-excited fan to it sounding a bit more serious. Yes, you're not the first person to come across as a seriously obsessed fan and you won't be the last, but that doesn't excuse it really. You may think you're just being enthusiastic, but if you're giving the impression to some people on here that your behaviour is verging on obsession or stalking, then that could just as easily be the impression Sheridan would get as well (especially in light of her history of having to deal with obsessive fans), and I'm sure that isn't what you would want. There's no need to contact the show's producer, you're no more entitled to meet her than anyone else, so just stage door like other fans. I'm sorry if this comes across as harsh, but I think it needs to be said as this thread has become increasingly alarming over the past while.

The house full sign last night indicated there were no sales issues yesterday. Of course it being WEL may have bumped attendance. i I think that does help. I remember one particular WE Live a few years ago was horribly wet and I ran to the Savoy and tried (and failed) to get tickets for the Legally Blonde matinee. Ended up going to Wicked instead I think!

Saw this at the Menier twice (and LOVED it) and now looking forward to first visit to its Savoy incarnation - interested to see how it translates to the bigger space, whether the loss of intimacy detracts or even enhances. Also very interested to see Natasha's take on the role. Am there in a couple of weeks... will report back!

Did anyone catch a film that was on Film 4 last week or the week before starring Sheridan and Ray Winstone's daughter. It was called The Powder Room. Not sure what to make of it, it was all very odd.

I saw it. Its an unusual film. Sat awake after trying to work out whether it was genius or disaster Did think it could work as a one act stage piece

Wasn't trying to kill anyones joy, I hadn't looked at the thread for a few weeks, and popped back on and it was largely George22 posts and to do with his visit to the show.
All meant in good humour - hope you have a great time at the show! As you were people

george22 - don't go - you must not let the opinions of one poster affect you. Most of us on here are a supportive bunch even when we disagree and there is no need for personal attacks - it says much more about them than it does about you!

If this is directed to me, well I wasn't not being supportive, however certain things did cause concern, so I said so. I am a supportive person, up to a point. Should we be supportive of stalker like behaviour if that emerges? I don't feel like we should enable such behaviour if we feel that is what is happening, not saying that it is here necessarily, but we shouldn't just support anything/anyone. I haven't launched a personal attack on anyone. Plus I don't believe it is only one person (me?) who feels this way. I have left the subject now.

Perhaps a break would be best to just go away and think of everything?? He's not leaving, but sometimes a break really helps situations like this.

Assuming Sheridan doesn't come back in the next couple of weeks, I'll probably dayseat towards the end of next month to see the show regardless of who is on. Any recent day queue experiences would be very much appreciated to help me plan how early I'll need to get up!

Any recent day queue experiences would be very much appreciated to help me plan how early I'll need to get up! Yesterday morning I arrived at 8am and was 7th in line, 20 by 10am. Of course this being West End Live weekend may have reduced the number of people as they were waiting in queues circling the square.

Aren't TodayTix being a bit risky putting "until 11th July the role of Fanny Brice will be played by Natasha J Barnes"? To people buying off that app, it is making out it is dead certain of the date Sheridan will be back, when she may be back sooner than that or, hopefully not, but later than that.

Off to see Funny Girl again tonight. I was so hoping Sheridan would be back but will be interesting to see how Natasha has developed into the role. I saw her perform the the role the very first night she stood in at the Menier so I'm expecting to see a very different performance.

I saw Funny Girl last Saturday, at a very busy matinee. Unfortunately I realised that it's definitely not my type of show, and I don't see myself visiting any new productions of it in the future. But, in spite of that, I thought the cast was uniformly excellent, and Natasha Barnes especially so. I felt she was the character, a funny girl full of talent and infinite energy. At the end of the show the audience spontaneously jumped to their feet all at the same time. I was in the middle of row P and it was exciting to see that mass of people stand up with such enthusiasm. I had never seen anything quite like it before. In my experience just part of the audience initially stands up, to be followed by others who, I think, often do so because they don't want to miss what's going on on stage. Natasha seemed quite overwhelmed by the audience reaction. It felt I was witnessing a star-is-born moment. I was very happy for her.

Haven't already seen this posted but apologies if it has been. The cast recording release has been put back to the 5th August.

I really hope they are not gonna re-record it with Natasha. I am sure she is amazing but it is so disrespectful to Sheridan if they do.
