No ran out of time for tickets as they sold so quickly. That's why we was so happy when a transfer was announced. Why? No reason! There were oodles of tix that came available during the Menier run though. Was there? As soon as they announced the Savoy run, we booked straight away though. Hope in 6 weeks she'll be back!

Hope in 6 weeks she'll be back! Yeah, some extra tickets found their way onto the Menier site, and if you were lucky (like me), you searched around midday and found a front row seat for the day after, which just so happened to be New Years Eve! But glad you have tickets in whatever capacity!

Wow..looking at these pictures was a reminder how ugly and unflattering the entire aesthetic of the show was..What were they thinking with these costumes? How is this playing on the West End in such a pretty theatre? Funny Girl is supposed to be fabulous.. I said from day dot that the costumes were cheap and nasty.

How many posts do you need? It's 500 to be a senior citizen... sorry 'member' That's the the highest we go at the moment. Seeing as you're all 'chasing the dragon' maybe there should be another level to aim for after 500?. What should it be and what should we call it? Answers in the Feedback section please! www.theatreboard.co.uk/thread/799/seniority-followers500 posts? Judging by my record of posting, it'll take me another three months, I think I need to up my game! I need to stock up on "Burn" GIF's for every time someone gets roasted on this forum!

That dress is just awful, like nothing you should ever see in a professional production on the West end. It looks like the cheapest of cheap costumes in those awful pre order dance costume book. Awful. I hope they update Natasha's dress too, as she is doing a run now. That dress is awful for the last impression of the show.

I understand the aesthetics of this production... Fanny has to be dowdy and a bit if a frumpy, but when we saw this at the MCF I also thought this dress was hideous and very unflattering. It looks like a sequinned sack. Couldn't we have a bit of fantasy at the end of this show and at least make Fanny look nice if not beautiful?

Considering she's quite literally my idol.. Then one would hope that you'd wish her to be well and make a full recovery from whatever it is she's going through, even if that means she's not on when you go. I know it's easier said than done, but sometimes you just gotta put things into perspective, swallow your pride and get on with life, whilst you've still been blessed with one. Sadly though I see a lot of her 'fans' are just saying how she's being selfish and needing to perform, which is kind of ironic considering they're the selfish one's. I find it really sad that most of her 'fans' just expect her to put their demanding above her well-being.

I will just start by saying that I didn't like her in this production AT ALL (and thought she was overrated in Legally Blonde). Generally I just don't get it when it comes to the Sheridan love.
HOWEVER, if my loved one was dying of cancer, I seriously wouldn't give two flying f*cks about work. I think she should have called it quits much earlier (in fact, she simply should have ended it at the Menier and had the transfer postponed indefinitely because clearly his illness wasn't going away), both other than that, I think she's finally doing the right thing. As for the poster earlier, I think she is finally putting things into perspective, swallowing her pride AND getting on with the show (your words!) by taking time off and focusing on her issues and her family.

If it is her fathers diagnosis that has triggered all of this then she should have sat down with the producers and asked about a leave of absence much earlier instead of kicking off so publicly. She is already in the lucky position of having a job that gives her free time and flexibility during the day to be with her family, far more so than the majority of jobs. Also, being the leading lady is more than just being the star, she is the company leader and there is a responsibility with that. How she has acted has been unfair to the rest of the company.
I have worked with people who have had immidate family members go through cancer (some twice) and also had family members myself have cancer and the harsh reality is you can't just give up work unless you are very fortunate.

The thing about musical theatre performers though is it's so rare for them to take any time off, because they have worked SO HARD to get where they are, and they have wanted nothing more since they were tiny children than to be performing on that stage every night. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Sheridan knew in her head that she should have asked for a leave of absence sooner, but she wanted to keep going anyway, even though that effort seems to have now ultimately exacerbated her issues.

Just to make it clear, apologies, I said the "putting into perspective, swallowing pride" etc to our lovely George, worried enormously that he won't get to see his idol. That definitely was in no way what-so-ever my thoughts on what I feel Sheridan should just do....!

What happens after 500? Is it like Logan's Run and we get taken out the back and put put of our misery? At 500, word is you get to be invited "backstage " with the Mods for a special presentation with a couple of glasses of bubbly and some posh nibbles, although from what I've been told it was more like pommagne and pot noodle. I really wanted mine to be at the weekend as I'm allowed to stay up a bit later, but I don't think they're doing it any more: at the last one things got a bit lary after that game where you get a famous person's name stuck to your forehead and you have to guess who you are. A pritt stick was whipped out, photographs taken, a lot of effing and jeffing, and someone (I do know who but I can't say) ended up locked in their dressing room after hanging on to some stage curtains pretending to be Norma Desmond, screaming, "I'll do it again, I'll do it again, I'll do it again..."

I've just got the new avatar... Is the end of the pritt stick covered in carpet fluff? That happened to mine once. You should have heard mother; she went off alarming. "How many times have I told you about that thing? If it wasn't bad enough what you did to the sofa, we've now got white marks all over the Axminster..." She wasn't pleased. (Still can't work out the BURLY bit though...)
