The next all female production from Phyllida Lloyd starts in New York on 24 May until 26 June 2015, at Free Shakspeare in the Park. Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Stars Janet McTeer and Cush Jumbo. Brilliant casting. I wonder when Donmar will get it?

Not a very imaginative choice, all-female Shrews are not that unusual, even I've seen one.

Can't say this sounds all that great to me, I wonder how much will be cut and what the setting will be?

Well, it initially does sound like a rehash of the all-female Shrew Phyllida Lloyd already directed for the Globe starring Janet McTeer as Petruchio, also open-air Shakespeare audiences tend to be a little less forgiving of innovation, so I'd imagine that - male actors aside - it's very likely to be a pretty traditional production.

What a bizarre assumption!! I call it "looking at the available clues and making an educated guess". We'll find out in summer, when I'll either graciously concede I was wrong or less graciously await your apology.

The Public Theater promises "an all-female cast and a bold new take."
Baemax educatedly guesses "it's very likely to be a pretty traditional production."
Who will be right? The producing theatre or the forum member?

You say that like those two ideas can't possibly exist alongside each other. I'm predicting standard period costuming the whole way (as opposed to, say, prison fatigues ), and though I'm not sure whether I think they're going to play the ending for laughter or horror, there'll certainly be a ton of humour before they get there (and whichever way they take the ending could be claimed as being bold, lord knows I've seen several productions for each approach).

The clue is in "bold new take" I suspect. And if it was to be set in a prison again, I hardly think P Lloyd would choose to stage it in the Park.
