At a guess I'd say they might belong to the "avantgarde opera" they are all seeing in the first act. Natasha literally sings "Grotesque and amazing, I cannot follow the opera..."

The release of the Prologue video has made me even more excited for this.

According to Chihiro’s Instagram, the huge one has been donated to a school. It remains to be seen what happens with the others.

I'm looking forward to the bears, perhaps infamous dancing bears. I suspect they'll be more abstract as the show isn't written in a naturalistic style.

the bears don’t worry me as this is a show that has never been about naturalism or realism - it’s weird as hell & can take a vigorous interpretation. Whether we end up individually liking the production at least we can all say it’s gonna be well sung!

I hear theres a live video section where Natasha has a wander round Neals Yard, buys some toiletries then re-enters the Donmar astride one of said bears (after making meta-visual gags relating to Declans Eastenders stint and a red hair scrunchie).

The content warning got recently updated.
CONTENT ADVICE PLEASE NOTE: There is partial nudity on stage. This production also contains a live flame, feathers, haze, guns and gunshots.
Does this mean that the Donmar is finally giving the people what they want and letting Muscato (partially) strip downstage center? That'd sell out a transfer run to hungry theatre fans.

Last time I saw nudity on stage at the Donmar was My Night With Reg and Julian Ovenden walking past me in my aisle seat and he was very close to me. And I didn't even have to pay any extra for the seat.

I have this suspicion that the bears in rehearsal won't be in the actual show, but are being used as stand ins for audience members. On Broadway (not sure about other productions) things like letters were handed to certain audience members during the performance, or the cast would sit down next to and somewhat interact with people who came to see the show. I think they're just giving the actors something fun to act to during those moments. That, or there's a scene with pink fluffy bears dancing about. Either way, I can't wait to see the show in two weeks

I managed to get a ticket in the ticket release today for Friends, so my request for a single ticket on the Noticeboard can be deleted. So thrilled that I was finally able to grab a ticket! 😊

Anyone, like me, who is worried that they are going into this having completely forgotten who is who in War and Peace, could do worse than watch the six part BBC adaptation from 2016. It's available on the BBC iPlayer. I watched it when it was first shown and am enjoying revisiting it. It really is a star studded cast and some of the younger actors have gone on to bigger things. I'm glad that my upcoming visit to the Donmar prompted me to seek it out.

So thrilled that I was finally able to grab a ticket! 😊 Were tickets released throughout the run? Yes, there did seem to be a handful of seats in the sides of the Dress Circle for the dates I looked at, but not sure how much will be available by 12pm when the general release is.

Anyone else getting a 500 internal server error message? I'm assuming the website is crashing due to demand? (Or maybe my computer is just throwing a strop)

Tried today, everything I selected came up as already selected by someone else, then the site crashed and now in a queue of over 1000.

So far no sign of any tickets being released (multiple friends checking multiple dates since 12pm).
Wonder why the Donmar haven’t hit the release button yet? It’s 12:11 now..

Managed to get one pretty much bang on 12, already had the performance page opened that I wanted a ticket for. Was maybe 10 seats all at the very side and then standing tix.

I think returns will probably be the best bet for seeing this.

Can’t wait!

Over 4,000 in the queue at 12.15pm
I got in ahead of 12 and chose a performance day, and then refreshed that and available seats showed up quickly once it was 12 noon. A tip I picked up from this board I think. Not much help to others now - but a good one for future ref - it gets you 'past the foyer' I guess and able to roam around - briefly!. I was able to click through to the next couple of performances and see if anything better was there, but noticing things were disappearing rapidly I made a decision before it was too late.
There will be further tickets released daily (online) once the run starts: "With Donmar Daily, an allocation of tickets will be released every morning, Monday – Saturday (excluding select performances), at 10am for performances seven days later". Quite good they do it for the week in advance - allowing people out of London a chance to plan the travel.
