Each to her own, vabbian, but I don't listen to things more than once anyway, so they have to grab me first time. And indeed, show tunes I will only hear during the live performance as when I do have time to listen to anything at home, it's speech anyway. There have definitely been musicals - and recently - from which I have emerged humming a tune or singing lines from a song, and some of these have stuck with me for days. So it is possible; Yank just didn't tick that box for me.

I've got 2 tickets for tonight (Tues 15th) - D9 and D10, but cos of the train issues today in and out of Waterloo, I'm not going to be able to make it...I can't risk not being able to get home midweek...Anyone want them?

what a story! I wonder how much the average small theatre costs to build. Would be fab if you were financially lucky enough to run your own theatre, I would do runs of Yank! Judy! Murder Ballad.. all the time

I've still got my tickets for tonight...going free! I would rather someone use them than they go to waste...if anyone wants them, message me and I can mail you the print at home tickets.

Well what a lovely show and story! Beautifully performed, and what a lovely little score. The two leading men and the female in the show are standouts and deservedly so, fantastic performances from the whole cast truly! I shall be doing everything in my power to go back before Saturday, I loved it that much. Also, a few weeks ago, having not known any of the actors in the show, I got a random follow on Instagram from one of the actors. I hadn't liked anything to do with the show or followed any of them on Instagram, and I was caught out because said actor doesn't follow many compared to some. Turns out it is Bradley Judge, who plays Rotelli and understudies Mitch! Even threw me a smile at the curtain call, I may of swooned a bit knowing he follows me now!

Also, judging by Andy's twitter, a special guest in the audience tonight... I didn't even notice!

I really think the actor playing Stu could be a potential Evan Hansen if it transfers. I was thinking the exact same thing! Great minds think alike! Me too

I was there yesterday afternoon and whilst I enjoyed it, I certainly wasn't as enamoured with it as others on here have been. It was a gorgeous story and Scott Hunter as Stu & Chris Kiely as Artie were my standouts. I actually quite disliked the first 15/20 mins. The acting was pretty shoddy, the accents were rather questionable (the guy playing Tennessee was *so* annoying) and the music wasn't as lush as I was expecting.
However, the bunk-bed scene with Mitch & Stu was played to perfection, and with the introduction of Artie I was won over. Even with Act 1 running at around 1hr 20, it went so quickly and never once dragged. So, for me, it must've really picked up from there. As I said, a gorgeous but ultimately sad story but it never reached any emotional heights, apart from the actors playing Mitch and Stu. Everyone else had been directed/was acting as such a caricature that, for me, any sense of danger or emotion was skewed by their such heightened/over-the-top-ness, in comparison to the beautiful, natural and understated performances from the two leads. This, for me, made an extremely rushed Act 2 lose some of its emotional impact. Final gripe was the set - wobbly, uninspired and looked quite amateurish. But your budget is your budget!
Anyhow, the choreography I thought was great and extremely well executed, singing was mostly fab, the band sounded awesome and the theatre was COOL!

Well
Saw the matinee today, 3rd and final time seeing Yank before it closes.
I have fallen deeply in love with this musical, and will have fond memories of the cast when listening to the soundtrack.
I think it will be difficult for me to see Yank again in the future if it does comeback, knowing that the cast will be different. More so than the music or staging, I think the cast shone in this for me.
I can only think of three other times I have become so attached to a cast; 2014 Miss Saigon, 2017 Angels in America and Love Never Dies original cast.
I leave for Beijing tomorrow to live. I know I will be wondering around the streets singing along to the soundtrack, and daydreaming about Stu and Mitch.

Best of luck in Beijing.
The good news is, a Mandarin version of Tell Me On A Sunday is to tour China next year. Something to look forward to!!!

Heading back Saturday matinee. Loved the show when I saw it last night, I just can't stop thinking about it! I'm very excited to see it again.

Twill be sad to see this one go tonight, but best of luck to all the cast, who all will go on to great things I'm sure! Andy will be fabulous in Hair, and I can imagine, as said above, the guy playing Scottwould be fantastic as Evan Hansen! Oh and because of work, I got to exchange to the evening show rather than the matinee, so yay!

Cast are on top form tonight, both leads getting emotional during the Opening Number and Act I Finale. Very responsive audience, surrounded by pwople who have seen it multiple times. This is truly a show that has touched alot of people of many ages and backgrounds. Well done Yank!

A brilliant final performance. Very emotional toward the end, Scott struggled a bit to get through Stu's final speech and there was alot of tears at curtain call. Very responsive audience, with a full house (yes, sold out house) standing ovation as soon as the final notes were sung by Andy. Very overwhelming, it was very clear tonight just how much this show matters and just how much it has touched people. I hope we see another production in the not too distant future. And Scott, as I said when I saw it on Wednesday in response to the Evan Hansen comment, he'd be perfect and I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him get it! Congrats to the cast on a great run and bringing this story to the stage!
