Wow! I mean, I want to know about the new Hampstead season (being announced today, will include Sex With A Stranger from 27th January starring Emilia Fox), but not half as much as I want to know what I missed here!

Same! I mean Hampstead you're all very exciting and all but I think you should stage whatever went on here...

Hmm. Sex With Strangers Upstairs, two new plays Downstairs (Experience and Scarlett). Not quite the exciting full season I'd've expected from the first post.

Have emails gone out or is it just on their website?

I haven't had any emails yet, but they're all on the website. They quite sweetly have a (slightly inaccurately named) Just Announced section on there, but going through the spaces individually doesn't turn up anything else: www.hampsteadtheatre.com/whats-on/just-announced/

Ah that wasn't there when I checked, I was obviously too keen! Many thanks. I haven't been the Hampstead in a year, shame on me.

'Sex with Strangers' has two characters who are writers - writers as characters aren't always great. (Worked in 'The Seagull' and, I guess 'Deathtrap' - hard to think of many others.) And one of them is a blogger (ugh - not ugh as a thing to do, it's a fine and honourable thing to do, but ugh as a 'hey I'm going to show how up-to-date I am by having a character be a blogger, when you know in five years it will seem really old hat. It will all be mental telepathy or something then.) But I'm willing to be convinced.
Not much info on the other two but maybe someone who knows the writers' work would be more excited?

Hmm. Sex With Strangers Upstairs, two new plays Downstairs (Experience and Scarlett). Not quite the exciting full season I'd've expected from the first post. Indeed. Surely 'exciting' is new plays by major playwrights, a return to the stage of a beloved major actor or two, perhaps a revival of a modern classic unjustifiably neglected?

Bruce Willis is dead in 6th sense, the woman is a man in crying game, rosebud is a sled in citizen Kane (worst twist ever)

Maybe Parsley is a huge Emilia Fox fan? Or related to one of the Downstairs playwrights? Or actually *is* one of the Downstairs playwrights? Or actually *is* Emilia Fox?

Maybe Parsley [...] actually *is* Emilia Fox? Now I'm going to be disappointed if parsley isn't Emilia Fox.

Hampstead are constrained by their tedious new-plays-only policy which they should ditch - this time they haven't even tried to stretch the boundaries of the policy as they have done with Wild Honey, Longing, Mr Foote's Other Leg etc. in the past.

To be fair to Hampstead Theatre, I doubt that they actually have a policy to do only tedious new plays. Actually, I'm EXCITED about this announcement because I see that Scarlett by Colette Kane is a co-production with Hampstead Downstairs and Theatr Clwyd. I trust Theatr Clwyd's taste in new work after recently seeing Pilgrims at the Yard (from HighTide Festival) and hearing good things about Love, Lies and Taxidermy in Paines Plough's mobile Roundabout Theatre (at the Edinburgh Fringe and then touring nationwide).

I realise that English is your second language, after Welsh, but I tried to help you by employing hyphens to clarify what the adjective was applying to.
