I'm thinking of attempting the day seats for this tomorrow. It looks like one needs to be there painfully early though. Is it at least a comfortable experience? Nice pavement outside yeah?

When you days seat (at least when I did) you go into the penny cafe under the theatre and collect a ticket there to go to the box office. The staff come down at 10 and get you in ticket order.

In the prog they say that they are aiming for a Broadway run. Sorry my previous entry was so brief. Was tired. Just a few observations: obviously most people if not all know the story and I think the show depends on this. For example the piano teacher and the old guy are are in it but not clear I don't think. So unlike the greats, Guys and Dolls say or My Fair Lady, based on a story and a play, I think to enjoy this you need to know the film or at the least the story. It doesn't break free. But having said that I think it could. Maybe they cram in too much, maybe they need a real humdinger of a song they can belt out in various forms, maybe they need to work up a couple of minor roles ( in this the insurance guy has a poignant solo and could carry more I think as could the camera man) I dunno but yes, I think it could be a great...it will be a long runner. The audience stood at the end and there is no doubt the leads are really something.

That's quite interesting. When I day sat during previews I was 5th at about 9:30 and there can't have been more than 10 people there.

My friend has done it a few times and I'm trying next week. Friend did a Tuesday and got there at 8:30, too late to get anything, 7:30 on a Thursday, 9th in queue and got evening tickets.

Extra charity performance at 7.30pm on Monday 19th September. On sale to friends level members Wednesday at noon, to the general public from Thursday 16th September. Prices from £12 to £150 VIP tickets. What do we think the chances of there being any tickets left after the friends booking period are?

Perhaps the GH lovers theatre board community should have one last show and all meet up on the extra date....

Guess I'm not seeing it on its last day after all!
Hope this means that some people who were regretting missing it get tickets. I suspect there will be a fair few people who can't resist seeing it one last time though!
Edit: Totally cross-posted with jampot just then. It is very tempting to book again, must admit! I bet the cheap tickets will be gone by the time public booking opens, though.

It's tempting to go since I did really want to see the last performance. I've got a ticket for the Saturday matinee I can't use because of work so hopefully if there are still tickets going on Thursday during my lunch break I'll see if I can swap from the Saturday matinee to Monday.

I presume there will still be dayseats for the final Monday, if that's the cast I will try that and endure the early start.

So tempted to go down to London for that extra show. Best thing I've seen on stage for ages.

Anyone going Monday eve or the final show on Sat? I'll be there sporting my new Theatre Board Badge.

Despite having a ticket to see it again, I think I will also join the fray and try and book that additional performance. I ordered my badge at the end of August, maybe it will arrive and I can bring it with me

I have a feeling they'll wait until Broadway for a cast recording considering the cast (other than Karl) is very likely to change.

So my dayseating yielded tickets. People arriving after 8 didn't get anything, not sure of the exact cut off. I had an absolute blast, my first review still stands but now I enjoyed the music a lot more, and now viewing it from the circle I could see just how absolutely mindblowing the revolve action was. Probably won't bother with this new Monday now I've been back but if I hadn't gone today I would have mysteriously found myself feeling ill at work just around the moment those tickets were going on sale...

I think i am sitting on the 2nd row for this on Monday. What's the view like from there? I must say this is very unusual for me, i have never sat that close in a show before, it's just not been something i fancied. But needs must with this otherwise i'd have missed out completely.
