Unusual to not have comment on a play at the RC, especially as this is a very well written, directed and acted piece (previously seen at Hightide). Sarah Ridgeway and Nigel Lindsay are the excellent performers in this double hander, which slips and slides its way so you are never quite sure who is what (to say much more gets into immediate spoiler territory).
Given that Scarborough, another play lurking in the murkier areas of sexuality, also had a run some time ago, what chance that another three syllabled Yorkshire town completes the trilogy. My money's on Bridlington....

Eek, why not go alone? I almost invariably do and it's SO much easier. Today was a rare occasion when I was supposed to be going with OH, yet I ended up having to return his ticket.

I used to go on my own but then I started getting really lonely and then in Feb it got so bad that I thought about jumping into the Thames! Much as I love theatre it's not worth getting wet over so decided not to go unless accompanied

Fair enough, mrslovettsmeatpie, and obviously we've both found our tried and tested method which best suits us our individual needs, but it's still a shame to miss out. I had a ticket which I also returned, albeit for a different reason, but maybe we should start a system on here whereby people could note productions they wished to see and ask if anyone else is interested in going? There has already been mention of group outings/get-togethers and it often turns out to be the case that many board members happen to have booked for the same performance (see the School Of Rock thread), but this could be a little more organised. Any takers? (I will put something on the General Chat thread when I get time.)

I thought this was brilliant. Very well written, clever and funny. {Spoiler - click to view} I liked the comparison between his wife and the man who had come into hospital to have his eyes removed, although the only thing that did puzzle me: the final shot where he is crumpled on the floor and staring into the light - was this supposed to be a reference to the man blinding himself with his welding equipment? If so, that seems at odds with the point of that story - surely that is referring to her rather than him?
