Does anyone know anything about Musical of the Year in the Lost Theatre in particular or about that show in general? Never heard of it but maybe I'm missing something nice? I have only one free slot left for my October trip (17 shows in 8,5 days, ouch!) and I am choosing between this one and Bridewell Theatre's On The 20th Century so any advice in any side will be much appreciated. Rebecca Gilliland, previously in The Clockmaker's Daughter, is playing the female lead of Lizzy.
Not sure who's playing the male lead, Rudy, but the full company is Chiara Brooke, Miranda Colmans, Jamie Fillery, Rebecca Gilliland, Jessica Hern, Simon Hodson, Mark Houston, Colin Kiyani, Domonic Ramsden, Kevin Rodgers, Robbie Smith, Jennifer Tilley, Andrew Truluck, and Victoria Waddington.

Hello Steve & Stasia,
Here is a brief synopsis of the show:
It’s 1955 and college sweethearts Rudy Brown and Lizzy Conlon embark on writing the ultimate award-winning musical. So begins a 60-year process of adapting the same musical to the styles of My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Cabaret, Les Miserables, Wicked, and virtually every other show in the musical theatre canon. Will they ever win Musical of the Year? From the writing team of Stephen Lanigan-O’Keeffe (music and lyrics) and Owain Rose (book), Musical of the Year is being presented for its inaugural theatrical run at The Lost Theatre this autumn. Direction by Owain Rose (Misterman, Upstairs at the Gatehouse; Silence, The Bull in Barnet), musical direction by Stephen Lanigan-O’Keefe (Beowulf, Travesty Theatre; Fallen Angels, Upstairs at the Gatehouse), choreography by Emma Pleass (Cabaret, The Lund Theatre; Scaramouche, the Zany Commedia Musical, Hoxton Hall), and design by Frank Turnbull (Blackadder, The Bull Theatre; Frankenstein, Upstairs at the Gatehouse). The season runs from 12th to 29th October 2016. "Musical of the Year" is an irreverent love-letter to musical theatre's ever-changing style and constant charm.

It's an intriguing idea - I've booked to see it, but sadly only managed to fit in a date at the end of the run, so won't be able to report back here until it's too late!

Went to the second preview. Sadly only a small audience.
Definitely worth a look and supporting the enthusiastic performers. Several of the principals have excellent voices.
Some very clever, inventive pastiches both musically and in the lyrics.
Definite feeling of 'fringe' but very enjoyable in my opinion.
