Point taken on the going from lead to a tour argument, but Emma Hatton did it with Evita I guess?! Going from lead in a West End show to lead in a different touring show isn't that uncommon. She had also previously mentioned in the past that Eva was a dream role of hers too. With regards to Sheridan Smith, as you mentioned the London show closed, but she was also very much of a star casting. I think it's very unusual to transfer to a tour from the London production of the same show. You see it happen in the US, but unless it's a star casting or the London production is closing, it's very uncommon over here And without trying to compare the two myself, Wicked UK has always seemed to promote from the tour to London. I do wonder whether going in the opposite direction would be seen as a step down by some |

Yeah actually with hindsight you make a good point that I hadn't considered!
I wonder with Bradley coming into London whether they would put Oliver on tour almost like a role swap - who knows, Oliver might actually like the option of a tour to see such glamorous places as Cardiff, Leeds & Birmingham 😂

Who are we guessing for Elphaba? I would love to see Willemijn do it but I feel like if she plays Elphaba again she'll perhaps shoot for the movie.

It would be great if it happened, but I honestly wouldn't read too far into it. When Nikki had to leave the tour early, a similar comment along the lines of "we'd love to work with her again one day" was made. If they were to do the tour that would be an amazing coup as they're both brilliant in their respective roles, I just think we shouldn't get too excited too early. Yeah, but Nikki blew her voice out and rumor has it she can no longer sing professionally. |

I'm going to be that person we all hate, but I can't say. I'm not meant to know is the problem (I'll delete the post if it annoys people). Just thought I'd let people know they're on the wrong track with previous Elphaba's was all.

The point being that when Wicked say that, it doesn't really mean anything so we shouldn't read too far into it. News of a potential new fresh Elphaba is exciting, let's hope it turns out to be true! |

Hearing of couple of the International Tour ensemble signing on to do the UK tour, so I assume the whole ensemble have been offered it, in the same way that the first UK tour ensemble were offered the international gig.
