Booked to see the tour in Birmingham (it's a birthday present for the mother, she doesn't know yet!). I've never seen the show before but obviously I've listened to it and adore it. We'll be in the back of the stalls as that's all I could afford in time for her birthday. I assume it's strong enough visually to have a good enough view? We missed it the last time it was around so I'm hoping it's a good tour, not too scaled down (if anybody saw the previous tour it would be nice to know how it was?). Granted I've never seen the London production so I won't compare it, probably a good thing! It's just as in London - you're in for a treat! There are some minor tweaks due to the size of theatres they tour in and it's a slightly smaller ensemble but unless you've seen the show a few times you absolutely won't notice any differences to what you get in London! I love the tour version as it's just like London, you get the full emerald city experience! |

You will miss the very top of the set, and depending on which row you're sat on you may also miss something at the end of Defying Gravity...I won't say as you haven't seen the show before! When you booked were you advised of a restricted view at all? |

Anyone any inside information on Zurich definitely happening or not? I'm definitely keen to go and travel but just wondering if it could meet the same fate as Instanbul?!
I'm happy to hedge my bets with the tickets as I'll get them refunded if it gets cancelled but the flights are so cheap at the moment I'd rather book sooner than later.....

I have no solid information, but I would have thought that if they were gonna cancel it they would've done it at the same time as the other dates. The audience laughed twice in the show at the Apollo Victoria - with Kristen and Idina, the original cast the audience were screaming laughing. The audience laughed only twice because without exception all the jokes in Wicked are sh*t. There's a little mild humour to be found from the characterisation, but I'd be concerned about someone screaming laughing for any of it. Quite. For the more rational amongst us it's more of an occasional smile, possibly a chuckle at Popular or when the goat eats the sandwich wrapper. That's your lot. |

Now I'm no producer, but perhaps generally it's seen as feasible to tour the midscale productions such as the above to Belgium/Europe but not the mega tours like Lion King, Wicked, Phantom etc. |

Right after last night in London I'm calling it, Suzie Mathers will be Glinda on the tour.
Michael McCabe gave a speech at curtain call and said it wasn't the last we've seen of Suzie. Oliver Saville also tweeted today that "this is not goodbye" so I wonder if he is going on tour too?!
"Fiyero swap" with Bradley going into London and Oliver going on tour?!

It would be great if it happened, but I honestly wouldn't read too far into it. When Nikki had to leave the tour early, a similar comment along the lines of "we'd love to work with her again one day" was made.
If they were to do the tour that would be an amazing coup as they're both brilliant in their respective roles, I just think we shouldn't get too excited too early.

Would really be surprised if this happened. Quite unusual for someone to go from principal in a West End production to principal in a touring production unless they are a celebrity, or if the main production was closing. IF this was going to happen, I would think Suzie would be the most likely option as she's only been with a UK Wicked production for one year!
I truely feel that Oliver has finished with Wicked (for now) after his length of service, and as mentioned earlier to go from West End lead to tour lead after that time seems unlikely!
But this is Wicked! I would never have guessed in the space of 6 months we would have Marriand Torres and Jackie Burns back with Wicked on Broadway! Anything can happen!!
