They were in the middle of TWAI. Full refunds will be given, or exchanges if possible but I gather there aren’t many seats left!

I mean, it’s entirely different isn’t it, let’s be honest here. If a show is cancelled, you’ll get a refund. ATG, RUG, independent venue, whoever. The situation in Bristol was a sh*tty one for those people who couldn’t go, but as has been said umpteen times on here, bad weather is beyond the control of the theatre and the producer. If Wicked decide they don’t wanna give refunds because of the weather, there’s naff all that ATG can do about that. If they gave refunds it would come from their coffers and not Wicked’s - and why should they do that? I know we all love to bash ATG but I think it’s important to stick up for them where appropriate, as I would for any organisation in this situation! Fair. My main criticism was the amount of time it took them to confirm exactly what was happening, so that alternative travel plans could be made (or not!). They kindly gave us fantastic tickets for the show 140 miles away, which we thoroughly enjoyed. ATG acted fantastically eventually.

I was in Leeds yesterday and after a chat with a few of the cast members there wasn't a fire in the theatre, but instead a small fire in Opera North which lies across the road but due to a bridge of sorts over the street the two fire detection systems have to be connected. However by the time this was figured out it had passed Equity's 45 minute cut off point.

Seeing closing night in Leeds today as I haven’t seen Amy Ross in an age and am really missing her Elphaba (assuming she’s on). Will report back and let everyone know what I think. Don’t have the best overall memory of Leeds as the last time I was here, on the way to Bradford for Wicked weirdly enough, I saw a naked man with his penis in a bin thrusting backwards and forwards. A few minutes later a police officer came up to me and asked if I’d seen a man trying to f**k a bin and I said that tragically I had, and pointed him in the direction of the man, and he said “thanks, which one was it, the blonde guy or the black haired one?” TWO BIN F**KERS IN ONE NIGHT! You know you have an epidemic on your hands when you’re needing to differentiate between people making love to inanimate objects Anyway... Wicked...

Difficult to take comments too seriously when the person in the pic is pouting with a cat’s nose and ears superimposed onto their fizzog 🐱

Overview of Leeds from me, because I've stopped bothering to report on every show I go to. Saw it 3 times, double show day on the 14th due to Nikki's scheduled show and then her also doing press night. Then again on Thursday 5th matinee.
Nikki really has evolved her performance in Leeds. It was amazing before, but all those things that just weren't quite there are really coming along. Also kudos to her for making as As Long as Your Mine so delightful to watch even though Aaron is doing nothing and Nikki does all the work of making it look and sound romantic and sexy. Her No Good Deed has really gotten frantic and rageful as well. I finally put my finger on something I love about her though, she is quite teenager/childish in act 1, still angry and spiteful but really naive and childish about her presentation of it. Yet in act 2 you can tell she has grown up completely. Enough about Nikki Bentley though.
Helen Woolf is still a complete delight as Glinda. Nothing changed there.
Aaron Sidwell is getting somewhere but he still just shows nothing in As Long as You're Mine.
Caught Helen Walsh as Morrible. I love her, she kind of came across as everyone's favourite teacher to me, you were actually supposed to like her until she decides she doesn't like you anymore. Her and Stephen Pinder work exceptionally well together.
Won't be catching it again until Sunderland, where I'm really excited to see Amy as Elphie again.

Just reading some of the comments on that Facebook post and one lady reckons she saw Alice Fearn instead of Amy Ross!! Theatres should probably go back to announcing when standbys are on beforehand to avoid this confusion...

It doesn't help at Leeds that the cast board is away from the main theatre, next door in the ticket office!

Theatres should probably go back to announcing when standbys are on beforehand to avoid this confusion... My friend thought Sophie Evans was Glinda when I went! (She didn’t buy a programme and just knew that I’d seen her before) In Edinburgh, I had the understudy Fiyero (Ben Yates) and the two Scottish grannies behind me said “he looks a bit different to when he was in EastEnders!” - was tempted to turn around and say who was actually on.

I went to see the show in Leeds on Saturday matinee, thankfully, the audience were immaculately behaved in the theatre and I did not see anyone on their phones. Outside the theatre the behavior was another matter entirely as the Tommy Robinson fan club were out protesting and snarling at the counter protesters with police all over the place.
I’ve seen this tour three times now. Once with Amy R and Charli. Once with Nikki and Helen. And Saturday was the first time I have seen Amy R and Helen together.
They are definitely one of the strongest parings I have ever seen!
Amy is not an all and out riffer, not that that is ever a bad thing, but she has a beautiful voice and is a superb actress. She is definitely one of my favourite Elphabi.
Helen is one of the strongest Glindi (!) we have ever had. Naturally funny. For instance Helen Walsh was on as Morrible and did a “I hope you prove me wrong” with a cheeky giggle. Helen W copied this in the end scene to much hilarity. She also has a beautiful voice and is very similar to Dianne Pilkington in many ways so obviously I loved her!
Amy and Helen have such a wonderful partnership and chemistry that it is a joy to watch.
I saw Benjamin Yates as Fiyero for the first time and really enjoyed his performance. He played it like a spoilt pampered prince and had a great chemistry with the leads. I definitely preferred him to Aaron as he was more animated and his journey from start to finish was more of a dramatic one. Many times this just is not clear.
The Wizard, Nessa and Boq were same old same old. I’ve seen them many times now I can’t really invest in these characters anymore. They are just “there”.
Was pleased to see Hannah in the midwife track. Loved Emily’s little extra touches and snarls. James is always a joy to watch twirling his ribbons. So full of life with the most beaming smile! Missed Luke the Twin. Always a very strong part of the ensemble. Rest of the ensemble were strong and full of energy which is lovely to see so far into their run.

Really hoping to see Ben in Cardiff at some point!
If complexity agree about Helen and Amy, there’s just something magical about them they I’ve not seen in other pairings.
And the ensemble... wow they’re still on fire, they make me not want to see London again. They’re amazing!

Is it a bad thing that at stage door he recognised me from Instagram? Helen and Amy’s chemistry was fantastic and they work so well together as a team, and yep. The ensemble for this tour are amazing - positive and energetic! There is a good chance you’ll get to see Ben. Aaron seems to come and go as he pleases.

I saw both performances of Wicked yesterday in Dublin, this is just a brief-ish review for anyone who may be interested! Quick note to say that the Dublin audiences were insane at both shows. Laughing at every joke, cheering after every song. It was great as the energy from the audience often influences the performers on stage. You could tell the cast were having an amazing time!
Amy Ross (Elphaba - matinee show): Anyone who has read my previous reviews knows that I adore Amy as Elphaba. She gives such a layered performance and really goes through every emotion throughout the show. She is so sweet and likable, making her transformation throughout the show even more powerful. Amy really took command entering Defying Gravity and gave a fierce rendition of the song (with her infamous growl). I love how clean she sings the score, only a few riffs here and there but she mostly sticks to the basics, which really just works when she so effortlessly portrays the role. Truly one of the greatest Elphabas the UK has seen.
Nikki Bentley (Elphaba - evening show): Nikki has improved leaps and bounds since I last saw her in Liverpool. Her character development is astounding. She has really found her own little quirks with the role, which makes her character have so much more depth and she comes across as far more relatable. Vocally she completely wowed me. I believe Nikki is probably one of the strongest Elphabas I have ever heard. Her belt quite literally shakes you in your seat, and when mixed with her riffs really just wraps up the whole performance so well. Nikki has just displayed so much improvement, I am thoroughly excited to see her again for her scheduled shows in August!
Helen Woolf (Glinda): Helen was stunning (as always) as Glinda. She has somehow managed to bring even more depth to her portrayal. I tend to connect more to Elphaba than I do Glinda throughout the show, however Helen really managed to draw me in and make me really feel for Glinda throughout the story. Her blend of comedy and raw emotion is honestly just breathtaking. Vocally Helen is incredibly impressive, her soprano is always so crisp and you can't fault her belt. A true standout from the Glindas I have seen.
Aaron Sidwell (Fiyero): I find myself liking Aaron more and more each time I see him. He adds little touches of humanity to Fiyero throughout the show that makes his transition from bad boy to sweetheart more natural than it often seems. He is very likable on stage and has little vocal quirks that I love listening out for when he's on stage. A brilliant Fiyero who has really proved his capability in the role.
Emily Shaw (Nessarose): Emily has also made many improvements to her performance as Nessarose. I kept a close eye on her performance throughout both shows and you can see a much more believable transformation of her character. The train station scene was particularly memorable as we can truly see the change in her character from sweet and loving to emotionally exhausted and bitter.
Iddon Jones (Boq): Iddon seemed to be enjoying himself slightly more on stage than in previous performances. The whole cast were quite energetic throughout so this lead to an improved performance from Iddon. Not much else to say other than he gave a serviceable performance.
Kim Ismay (Madame Morrible): Kim has really changed up her performance since her injury. She has toned down the bitchiness of Morrible and while I thought initially this might hinder her character, it made her seem slightly more realistic, making her performance have more impact. Vocally, Kim really does her little moments justice.
Steven Pinder (The Wizard & Dr Dillamond): Steven just continues to impress. With how long he has been playing these two roles you would think he would lose some passion for his performance, but Steven consistently delivers. As the Wizard he is incredibly charming and is just a joy to watch, he is like a giant child running around the stage and it is very amusing to watch. As Dillamond, her performs a very fatherly role model for Elphaba. Steven is just an all round amazing performer.
Thank you for reading, I'll keep updates throughout the rest of the venue!

I've just found out that Sunderland are playing at home the day I'm seeing the tour there... . That will be fun on the Metro back to Newcastle. (Oh, who am I kidding? Which Sunderland fans would be travelling to Newcastle after a match?)

The few you'll bump into will be Newcastle fans going to laugh at the fact Sunderland are in League 1 now.

The metro will be very busy due to people going to all the stops along the way to Newcastle. Just get on at Park Lane and get a seat before they all come on at St Peters and Stadium of Light stations.

I am so excited to be seeing Benjamin Yates as Fiyero next Tuesday and Wednesday, tempted to book another ticket for the evening show as it will more than likely be my only chance to catch him as Fiyero! Have any of you seen his portrayal? I want to know if it is worthwhile booking another show?

There have been a few rumours flying around recently that Wicked will have another tour starting around 2020. Apparently Plymouth is one of the venues that is provisionally booked. Has anyone else heard similar things regarding this. I'd be more than happy to see Wicked come back so soon after closing their current tour in Manchester!
