I'm not listening to audios of the cast until I have seen them live (in Liverpool) but I am very glad that Nikki is getting really positive reviews, I really look forward to seeing her!

Holy crap it's expensive in Bristol! £89 for a top price seat?? Since when did touring shows become so expensive?

I think that we’re side aisle for 2nd price £51. We’ve both seen it enough to not worry about missing whatever business goes on U/S left!

We're in the Grand Circle, half way back. It seems a pretty long way back from the stage though. I've never been to the Hippodrome before. My sister will be seeing Wicked for the first time.

Your view will be fine, just a bit further back. It is the most typical of layout so no surprises...theres a nice coffee shop about six doors to the right of the theatre or Turtle Bay opposite which is quite interesting if you’re wanting somewhere to eat.

The Empire is seriously wide, so if you're right across to the side, you will have a bit of a side view. But for someone who knows the show as well as you, if the price is right this is a good option  The central seats will be the better view for sure, it again comes down to price. |

Agreed, but (rightly or wrongly) it's all driven by demand. People buy seats so up go the prices. If we stopped buying them they'd soon come down again!
Matilda on the other hand is even more crazy...£97.50 for some Saturday premium seats in Manchester!

Thanks for the advice everyone! Both seats are £64 so regardless of my choice the price will stay the same. The 5th row seat is about 6 seats in from the very end of the row, not the worst but considering the theatre is wide it would definitely be a side view. I think I will go with the 11th row centre seat, sometimes it can be nice to sit a little further back and get a more "cinematic" view of the show!

Prices for Bristol are far higher for Wicked than they are for any other show that’s currently touring but I’m not surprised in the slightest. It’s still got the West End show tag very much attached to it. Prices are similar to what they were when Billy Elliot was here. What surprises me more is how many have sold in the past fortnight or so. There were loads of seats available when I looked (at selected dates granted) just after Christmas but surprisingly few when I looked again last night. Clearly they can justify having high prices as people are willing to pay them. I’m just glad I booked mine ages ago with the early bird offer

I find it quite annoying that Ticketmaster are in charge of tickets for the Bord Gais, their ticket fees are ridiculous and the €5 "student discount" is laughable when you have to pay €8 in additional charges. Also I notice that Ticketmaster have far less price brackets than ATG, seats in the very back of the stalls are still going at premium prices (around €65) while a similar seat in an ATG venue would be around £40, even with conversion rate there is quite the difference, and at least with ATG there aren't fees quite a lot of the time!

Regardless, ATG seems to offer and overall better deal for tickets, aside from the outrageous "top tier" which is £85!

It's get-in day at the Bristol Hippodrome today.
Bit surreal walking around the theatre's back streets this morning, only to come face-to-face with the dragon in a back of the truck and pretty much the entire set in the road waiting to go in the big side doors!

Single seats have been reduced down to £25 for tomorrow/Thursday's evening performances, £22.50 for Thursday matinee and £27.50 for this Friday. Hopefully this continues for the rest of the tour (in Bristol at least), I'll definitely be more likely to book again for £25 and sit along rather than pay the £60/80 they were originally selling for.

I’ve not got any tickets yet for the Bristol run and it’s only about an hour from home. I figured that I’ve seen the leads when I went to Zurich so I’ll just wait for a Code Green/Pink/Jodphurs/Midwife on the day and try to get a ticket......
I’m seeing it in London on Saturday so will get my witch fix then, although no doubt I’ll end up seeing a Bristol show if there have been no covers on towards the end!

TV advertising has definitely worked for them this time round, but as you say t is a constant advert. I seem to see it at least three times a day (and that’s just on my lunch break at work 😂) Around Christmas it was looking like they’d be lucky to fill half the seats at the Hippodrome, now on a few nights it looks like there’s potential for them to sell out
