Today was the final day of rehearsals for the tour cast before they open the show in Zurich They’ll be rehearsing from Monday in the venue, they’ve still got tech/sitzprobe to get through yet! |

Oh yes I understand that of course, but I mean their London rehearsals before flying over to Zurich. I'm very excited to see this cast, especially having no previous knowledge of the three leads! I think I have nearly 30 shows that I'm attending between Liverpool and Manchester! |

I get real NDJ vibes from Jodie. Her voice juxtaposes delicate with powerful - which is a way of thinking about Elphaba as a character. One thing I didn’t like in that video, though, was her just shuffling about.. the performance was very unanimated and it looked like the broom was just a dead weight...

Seems unusual that they gave her the broom when she had a handheld mic. Makes moving one without the other quite awkward/difficult. Usually they don’t seem to bother with the broom if they have to hold the mic (eg West End Live etc) |

Standby I believe but it seems logical that Amy will have been rehearsing, straight to tech then in the show to Press Night, now a break assuming both shows today giving Amy a long weekend off!?
EDIT: Amy Ross tweeted that she has a scheduled day off so guess it was planned. Hoping it’s not a regular Saturday thing though... I want to see Amy next weekend!

I would think that Amy taking a scheduled break this early on would indicate that Nikki could be an alternate. I find it unusual that Amy would have a scheduled show off this early into her run, unless she was going to have scheduled shows off every week

Either way I’m happy as I have a brand new Elphaba next weekend! |

Isnt Zurich a 4 show weekend deal? Maybe Nikki will be an alternate while in Zurich like Jodie was for Jacqueline in Asia.
I’m sure I read somewhere that Wicked UK dont like having their Elphaba’s do 4 shows in two days!

To be honest, regardless of the schedule I think Amy should have at least one or two shows off every single week. The role of Elphaba is incredibly tough to play 8 times a week, let alone when you're constantly moving from venue to venue. Nikki having scheduled shows each week would ensure that Amy has enough vocal rest each week, and gives Nikki time to grow into the role and build up a stamina.
As for Zurich, the show is operating on a 4 show weekend schedule it seems.

Amy and Nikki are alternating Saturday and Sunday during Zürich due to the 4 show weekend. (Hoping that Amy had Saturday off this week which means she’ll be on next Saturday!)
Also Natasha Ferguson is in Zurich, so I guess acting as emergency Standby as the understudies won’t be fully rehearsed yet!
