It's Darren Bell doing the shoot, not Matt Crocket so casual shots for the press release, with sofas no doubt involved somewhere

Gonna fuel the fires with some classic stalking- Amy Ross recently followed Aaron Sidwell and Helen Woolf on twitter. Its gonna be those three. Its like when Sophie started following everyone just before the announcement, then loads of the stage door creeper fans started following her so she had to ease up on the following. ๐

Helen Woolf also recently followed Sophie Evans and her most recent follow was Aimee Fisher who's first cover Elphaba and second cover Nessarose. Could Aimee be the new Standby?

Looking at potentially going out to Zurich- anyone got any tips on getting cheap flights/hotels/hostels? I booked BA out from Heathrow for ยฃ170 for two people, going Friday and coming back Sunday with a hold bag each. Prepare for eye wateringly expensive tickets at the theatre!

Nah Aimee will be contracted to London for the year. Money is on Jessamy Stoddard who was 1st U/S Elphaba in London and recently left after just one contract!

As soon as I posted that I saw that she'd only just started in London. Still interesting though, that she followed both the main Glinda and an Elphaba. ... its a a very slow day at work so this detective work is getting me through it.

Are the pictures definitely from the photo shoot for the new tour? Seems odd to do a photo shoot without a casting announcement first? Usually it's done on the first day of rehearsals! And also the Fiyero in the pictures doesn't really look like Aaron Sidwell? If so someone's taken a BIG risk taking these pictures and posting them on Twitter! ๐

Usually it will be photos of the leads which will be part of the announcment, just like when they announced Sophie & Alice - similar to NDJ and Emily Tierney for the first tour.

These are not costume pics as Matt Crocket always takes them during rehearsals, these are by Darren Bell, so likely to be for a more casual "Good News! Here is our new Elphaba and Glinda sat casually on a couch" announceration I think they'll be out by the end of the week in another What's on Stage "exclusive". Otherwise it will probably end up being leaked by someone, as the Fiyero news was.

So they have! The pictures looked very odd as they cast was in full costume and also had no mics etc ... on so they must have been from a photoshoot at some point!
But I think it's just the Fellow Ozians causing trouble again! ๐

Ok so I've found snippets and pieced it together.
Definitely fake. That's Ashleigh Gray as Elphaba which is about a 0% chance of it actually being her. Plus it's supposedly in costume which is traditionally Matt Crocket's gig for photos and as someone else said those pics would be when rehearsal started!

I'm very interested to see whether or not the tour will have an officially billed alternate Elphaba. I think considering none of the previous tour Elphies have been able to complete their runs (in good vocal condition), it would be wise to have an official alternate take two shows a week.
Considering that the tour begins in November 2017 and doesn't wrap up until January 2019, should we expect a cast change?

Considering that the tour begins in November 2017 and doesn't wrap up until January 2019, should we expect a cast change? I doubt it. This lot weren't meant to officially start until January but they had to tack Zurich onto the start because of the International Tour falling apart, so that would have put it at a year. The International Tour cast were originally contracted from July 2016 through January 2018 which is 18 months, so I don't think they'll change cast mid-way through a 14 month run that was only meant to be 12 initially.

I can't see them doing the alternate either... for me it's once again saying that an actress appointed as lead isn't capable of doing 8 shows a week!
And before you all start about NDJ/Ashleigh/Jackie there are many actresses in London/Broadway and US tour who manage!

And before you all start about NDJ/Ashleigh/Jackie there are many actresses in London/Broadway and US tour who manage! The leads haven't done 8 on the US National Tour for quite a while as far as I'm aware, Jessica doesn't now and Alyssa never did. Emma Hunton did 8 shows a week on the First National Tour in the months before it closed and ended up having to leave early and let Jenny finish her contract because she burnt out. The touring lifestyle combined with 8 Elphaba shows a week isn't good for anyone. London/Broadway is a different ball game as they're going back to their own home every night to rest and recover so they can cope a lot better I think. I agree that 6 should definitely be the maximum across all touring productions.
