You seem to be under the illusion that Wicked owes the fans something. They dont. I think you've read my post the wrong way! Never did I say that Wicked owes the fans anything, in fact my post highlights the fact that the production is just about generating money and it doesn't care about the fans, so they shouldn't expect anything on landmark events, much like your reply to me highlighted the same points! π€ You wrote "Hence the poor treatment of dedicated and loyal fans on such a landmark achievement! They don't care, all they want is the money and fame in my honest opinion!"
If Wicked doesn't owe the fans anything, why were they treated poorly at the 10th Anniversary??

The whole 'back door' thing was purely logistics - we all know how hectic getting people into the AV is on even a normal night let alone on a busy night like that. Of course they weren't going to let Stephen Schwartz and past cast members get accosted by fans while they were in the theatre.
That being said, I do believe tickets should have been free for everybody - not just YouTube-rs and Z-listers, but also fans.

If Wicked doesn't owe the fans anything, why were they treated poorly at the 10th Anniversary?? Because that was in reply to earlier posts about others saying how poorly they felt they were treat at the anniversary show. I was stating that I didn't go to the show, that some fans expected a big fanfare that was never going to happen, and that they were all pushed into the circle and through the secondary entrance/exit to make way for more important people who would bring more media attention and fame! I then stated that in my opinion it's all about the money and fame with Wicked! It was never a post to 'side' with the fans, it was a post to highlight that some fans expected a bit much and they shouldn't have!

The cast announcement is being made in September. Wicked often make cast announcements on a Friday. The 1st of September is a Friday. We wouldn't get so lucky?

After the excitement of Aaron being announced/leaked, this "wait for the others" gap is mystifying long. They are leaving us hanging. Again. There doesn't seem to be much of a buzz about it at all. Hope they prove us wrong.

It might not be finalised yet - or (probably more likely) they never intended to have announced anything yet but after the leak, in true Wicked style they rushed out an announcement.

I guess they're waiting to do one announcement when they've confirmed all the ensemble too?
Whilst part of the EU the visa requirements shouldn't be as stringent but I wonder if that's a factor too if there are no EU/UK nationals being cast?

I'm incredibly excited to find out who our Glinda is, I can only imagine the shock we'd feel collectively if they also gave us a brand new Glinda!

Last Friday, a couple of days after press night when interest in the show was a big high, would have been the perfect time to announce it.

Gonna be some disappointed folks when they find out it's Helen Dallimore! ππππ Helen Dallimore who left the London production on the strength that she was being offered Glinda in Australia, only for it to later go to Lucy Durack instead? I'm sure she'd LOVE to come back to Wicked Edit: I googled it and that's not actually true, Wicked was very eager to get her to play the role in Australia, so much so they were unofficially touting her as the new lead long before the cast announcement, but she decided not to go for it as she'd had enough of the show.

She's not a "new" Glinda though, is she?

She's not a "new" Glinda though, is she? Oh I read your comment as Suzie saying its a new glinda, and the comment below as an assumption. If it is Helen, yay? I've never seen her so I can't make a judgement on her performance itself. Atleast its not someone who was Lead or Standby being bumped up!

Helen has had only rave reviews from those who have seen her in London and on the tour, so I imagine she would be quite a brilliant tour lead, and I'd be very excited to see her! It also makes sense that Suzie would mention being happy with the casting, as obviously she would have spent time with Helen while they were in the London production!

Amy Ross tweeted she had got up very early for the first time in a while.
Coincidence?! π
