I have just watched a great movie on Netflix. De-Loverly is about Cole porter and his life. It is such a great movie and I can not believe I have not heard about it before now! It is filled with all of his great songs and celebrity performances and is just very moving. I would suggest everyone should watch this gem of a film or if they have any other recemondations.

Been it. In my opinion, vocally Robbie Williams and Alannis Morrisete were the best two cameos/

I saw this film a while ago, thought it was very moving. I love all of his music, think he is probably my favourite composer.

And if you loved that you MIGHT err..... like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At_Long_Last_LoveAs the blurb states sometimes voted the worst film ever. Despite that I enjoyed it, well at least parts of it. Hard to understand how Bogdanovich got it so wrong as he was on a roll then, with a real feel for old time Hollywood. Worth catching for the divine Madeline Kahn singing , “Down in the depths, of the 90th floor.” Read these lyrics and weep, for this is one of Porter’s lesser known songs. With a million neon rainbows burning below me, And a million blazing taxis raising a roar, Here I sit, above the town, In my pet-paillated gown, Down in the depths Of the ninetieth floor. While the crowds in all the nightclubs punish the parquet, And the bars are packed with couples calling for more, I'm deserted and depressed In my regal-eagle nest, Down in the depths Of the ninetieth floor. When the only one you wanted wants another, What's the use of swank and cash in the bank galore? Why, even the janitor's wife Has a perfectly good love life, And here I am, facing tomorrow, Alone in my sorrow, Down in the depths Of the ninetieth floor

Oh wow, firstly I LOVE this film. Secondly, blast from the past as I wrote what I'm sure was a TERRIBLE undergrad essay on it once upon a time!
