Does anyone know if there are any deals available apart from day seats / lottery? I think it'll be a while. I wouldn't expect any deals until at the earliest the New Year, as tourists start coming in around December, and with the reviews, it could be a hot ticket for them! And houses are already sold well now so if they can sell at the highest price they will. I suspect we may get a few "no booking fee" offers come January or February though, but money off, I don't imagine so for a while.

Not a deal but I've gone for a 'Restricted View' end of aisle seat in the Stalls (our Monkey tells me it's fine) for £44.50, I'll report back if it's any good on Wednesday

No deals. I was in H1 for £49.50 when I went. I'd sit the other end of the row, but it isn't terrible - big pillar in front, but luckily nothing much happens behind it. You just lose a sense of overall staging sometimes, I think. I got to the theatre at 17:10 on Saturday and asked what was the cheapest/ did they have any day seats left for the evening for a single seat. I was offered £25 for the back row of upper, I ummed a bit, then was offered back of stalls so ummed some more. She then offered me H1 in stalls for the same price so I took it. By the time I arrived there was a house full sign. Agree with Monkeys opinion of the seat, not sure I would have been happy at full price. In terms of the show I thought it was fine, brilliant cast for sure but unmemorable songs. My biggest problem was the people around me were laughing at the jokes before the punchline had been delivered, having only seen the film many years ago I didn't remember them so was usually an anticlimax once I got the joke. The horses were indeed fantastic.

I managed to snag the last front row day seat today at about midday! I think it helped that I was only after one ticket and the row is odd numbered. Super excited to see this.

That's pretty impressive; I thought I'd done well to get the last-but-one about 10.40 am last Wed - and obviously you stand more chance on a 2-show day. I do wonder if some people don't try because they can't get there early so assume it'll be too late?

To be honest mikey, if I was in the box office and you walked in with that puppy under your arm, I'd have let you have any seat you wanted for the day seat price. He/she is adorable!

Did anyone end up having any luck with student tickets after the earlier poster had issues?
not having any luck through TodayTix, so going to try for a student ticket instead!
If anyone has had luck, is an NUS card sufficient? As a staff member at a University, I'm entitled to NUS cards, UNiDAYS and student discounts, but only have my NUS and staff ID card (although it doesn't actually say staff on it, just 'member'!

Not at this specific theatre, but I've never had any issue procuring Student tickets with just my NUS even when looking substantially older than student age (it was still legit I was both staff like you and student!). As long as it's in date (some will check!) then you should be fine. My favourite use of student card was using it in NY, it being Welsh, everything was in Welsh first then English and you could see the eyes of Box Office staff glaze over and think 'yeah screw it that'll do' rather than try and figure it out.

Thank you both! Going to try this Sat for the Matinee.
What other shows do student tickets? I remember getting student tickets for Lion King years back.

Wicked, £29.50 for best seats excluding Saturday evening and peak weeks. Matilda do their 16-25 concessions. I think that's it! *waits for @theatremonkey to correct me*

Let us know how you get on, I don’t want to have to go back again and for them to say no. Although when I do go back, I’m tempted to send Nimax a little email and just if it is something they do, because of difficulties last time, and show it to the box office if they refuse again.

Almost all shows do student tickets. Play that Goes Wrong, Stomp, Annie, Lion King, Mamma Mia, Miz, School of Rock (Wednesday evenings), Thriller, Young Frankenstein have the actual C symbol in the London Theatre list, but asking at others often helps... oh wow, I feel enlightened. Does your website have a run-down of the student offers?

Great matinee today, the cast were all superb. I was pleasantly surprised by Lesley Joseph and Ross Noble, and Hadley's voice was a belter. A packed house and a standing ovation. It will run for a while I think.
The 'pillar seats' at the ends of row H are slightly more of a restricted view than I would've liked, even with leaning I missed a couple of bits, but nothing crucial to ruin the great show 😃

Saw this tonight. Very silly but oh so very funny. Great script, catchy songs, wonderful singing and acting from a very talented cast what more could you ask for?
I can't remember when I last saw something that made me laugh so much. Pity there aren't a few more shows like this about instead of the endless juke-box musicals.

Saw this last night and really enjoyed the whole show. The cast are great and I think Lesley Joseph steals scenes - her comment about farming brought the house down!! Its no problem that it is simply staged and is a typical Mel Brooks show, very funny even when you know what is coming next. Why do the critics come down on it so? Tell people its a fun show, so go laugh and have a great time in the theatre! I know the Garrick is an oldie but the pillars are rather a nuisance. It will last a good time I am sure of it - sorting out my next visit.

Last night I decided to go see The Exorcist, but decided that I would drop into the Garrick on the off chance they had student seats left. Arrived at 18:30, an hour before it starts, and they still had seats available. So bought them, sold at slightly restricted due to overhang of the circle. Row S, I believe! Seat was decent enough - a pillar on the left hand side was ever so slightly in the way, but I could see 99% of the stage, but did find my left eye was straining a bit throughout (I assume because it kept on focusing on the pillar?). Either way, for £20 the seat was awesome. They didn't even ask to see the NUS card, oddly enough. Just asked if I had my student card with me, but never actually asked to see it... Show was AMAZING. Everything I was hoping it would be. I've been waiting 10 years for it to come to London, I've always loved the cast album. Some omissions from the show included The Happiest Town in Town, Join the Family Business, Life, Life and Man about Town. Was a bit disappointed, as I love them all. But I did like how where both Life, Life and Man About Town are in the musical, the songs were sort of just there, they were just spoken instead (literally word for word for some bits!). Thought all of the cast was amazing. Not a weak link anywhere. I actually dislike Ross Noble immensely, if he was ever on a panel for anything I'd always switch over, but he was AMAZING and feel a bit guilty now, haha. As mention many times, though. Lesley Joseph steals every scene she's in. She's brilliant. Hadley Fraser is great, a lot better than I was expecting (For me, I couldn't see him in the role... but that may have just been because I'm so used to hearing Roger Bart...). Can't wait to go again Definitely try for day/student seats, though!

Was meant to see Venus in Fur this afternoon, but just won the lottery for this, front row so couldn't turn it down! And managed to sell the Venus in Fur ticket too so no complaints here!

If Dianne doesn't get nominated for that Olivier, Ima be pissed. That is all.

I LOVED THIS SHOW!! SO MUCH IT PISSES ME OFF! 😂😂 I was convinced when this was announced this would flop, be sh*t, worst musical of the year, I could not be more wrong! It is brilliant! The cast are fantastic all round, the score and book are hilarous and at moments really get to show off their voices, and the scene where the Monster comes to life, deservedly so, recieved its own applause just because of the sheer spectacle of it! I went to stage door after just to tell Dianne how brilliant she was, and she saw me, recognised me and said "you were a brilliant audience member, I haven't seen someone in front row be that responsive and laughing the whole way through yet!", and she was so right, I was crying with laughter at some points! Just brilliant, a 5 star show!

Could it have been you who sat next to me and gently warned us there would be an actor standing in front of us in one scene?
