I hope they have redone the book. And the staging. The entire Broadway show is on YT and not really all that great. Especially the Putting On The Ritz number. It was just wrong. For me I think the prices are a bit too high.

As mentioned on the noticeboard I have double booked myself and cannot make it on October 14th. Is there any way Nimax would do an exchange or would I be talking to a brick wall? (I can go on the 26th)

Well they clearly have as it's going to the Garrick. They all learnt how NOT to do it first time round so hopefully it will be better this time. Susan Stromas has sure lost her golden touch though which is a worry. I hope they have redone the book. And the staging. The entire Broadway show is on YT and not really all that great. I went on a couple of dates with a guy earlier this summer who had a serious obsession with both YF and Nathan Lane...to the point he talked about both of them more than anyone should ever over one lunch and dinner....and now every time I see this thread I think of that guy (and his ridiculous 'Ted Mosbey' hair) Anyway that was bugging me and I feel better for sharing  Now somebody keep me updated on Hadley... |

They were even fine to swap two cheap tickets for one more expensive one. May have been a policy for the Branagh season, but they didn't say it was unusual. May have charged a couple of quid to do the swap, can't remember. If you booked through an agency, not sure! |

Um, as her character wasn't actually in the Puttin' On The Ritz number in Top Hat I'm not sure it'd have helped her that much! |

I'll try and give them a call, there is a seat I can swap with, wouldn't even mind paying a fee as better than losing it! Unfortunately wouldn't be able to try in person for a while. |

I'm not sure if I'm stoking some kind of fire I wasn't expecting by reporting back but the lovely lady at Nimax swapped my ticket for me with no issues :-)
The reason I posted on this thread was because different theatres (and even productions) have different policies so this seemed the best place

Ticketing and seating and anything else not specifically attached to the technical or creative production is welcome in the threads. A thread about a show is a thread about every aspect of the show and experience, of which ticketing is one. Because there are a few posts about ticket or seating topics does not mean that one can't interject with thoughts on the production itself. The thread is open to all topics of discussion on the subject. I cannot see the issue at all.

I fail to see what is so hard about skim-reading a couple of posts on a thread that don't interest you. Other readers might not give a damn about scenery and only want to discuss the performances but they don't whinge any time someone brings up a set.
As above it's a thread about the entire show, and sometimes (particularly when talking about regional based productions) information about unfamiliar theatres is very useful, and integral to the discussion. If we can spend an age talking about whether or not Follies has or has not got an interval I think we can stand a couple of posts that confirm 'Hey Box office for this were helpful'.

Also, we had a discussion backstage about the proposal to separate discussion about seats/ticketing from the show thread and the unanimous decision of those taking part in that discussion was that it wouldn't work if we tried to, so we're not going to do it. horton I know it annoys you but it's not going to change I'm afraid. |

I'm constantly skimming past the dross from a girl I used to go to school with putting a video of her pasta boiling for her tea on her Instagram story. I wouldn't ever begrudge her for doing so, but it's just of no interest to me.

I'm constantly skimming past the dross from a girl I used to go to school with putting a video of her pasta boiling for her tea on her Instagram story. I wouldn't ever begrudge her for doing so, but it's just of no interest to me. Right? it's the 'I have to see pictures of your baby, then you have to see pictures of my dog' theory. Granted it's not much of a theory but....the point stands. |

What a fantastic opening night!
Susan Strohman gave a lovely pre-show speech saying what a beautiful theatre it was, and that this would the first full run-through of the show so to please bear with them for any show stops. With the exception of a snagged backdrop it went ahead with no hitches.
A cheap but cheerful set - mainly back cloths but with trucked doors, book cases, rocks etc. and some very nice lighting effects, particularly the lightning!
The cast were superb. Hadley F is perfect as Frankenstein - a fantastoc voice and just the right level of madness. Lesley J took a while to warm into the role but her rendition of 'He voss my boyfriend' was very funny. Ross N was excellent as Igor, providing some great comedy moments, including many old favourites from the film. Diane P and Summer S are perfect as Elizabeth and I have, and Shuler's 'Puttin' on the Ritz' was right ok the money. A supporting cast of 8-10 performers as random angry villagers filled in the stage nicely.
There was a huge round of applause as Mel Brooks took his seat to watch the performance, and he gave a lovely speech at the curtain.
Can't wait to see it again later in the run!

I echo those sentiments, such a good atmosphere tonight and a wonderful production. I haven't laughed so much at a show in ages! Felt very privileged to be there and tempted to go back later in the week if I can get a ticket!

Does the set look cheap or just minimal? Would you say this is being directed as a chamber version of the show that was on Broadway?
