It’s a new production. Not Sheffield or the recent London one..

Yeah, logo doesn’t represent a female Engineer.

Yeah, logo doesn’t represent a female Engineer. Doesn't really look like anything obvious- possibly a phoenix? Not like the original version.

If it’s a brand new (I.e cheaper to stage) touring production I’m puzzled as to why the Crucible one didnt get a further life? It was pretty stripped back but effective and extremely well received. Why reinvent the wheel?

I loved the Crucible staging but if it’s a UK tour, I assume they’ll pull props out of storage and give people what they know.

I was just wondering why, if they wanted to make a new touring production, they wouldn’t use the Crucible one. Unless of course they’re touring the old version again, but someone upthread did say “new production “

Because its not the same people producing it or putting money into it - they’re completely unrelated other than the same person owning the rights So it’s a further reinvention of the original? New production, and so not a copy of the old tour, but also still in association with CM and so not a complete non-replica like Sheffield. It’s not opening for almost an entire year so I don’t think it’s entirely clear yet exactly what will end up on stage to be honest. I would imagine more like the difference of new vs old Les Mis - rather than like how current Mary Poppins tour and recent WE were the same.

CM never (well never say never, but almost never) puts on low quality tours so this really is very exciting news if true!
One of the few producers to bring top quality around the UK.

Has CM seen what can be done from the Crucible production and manifested a new and cheaper touring show?
