CM never (well never say never, but almost never) puts on low quality tours so this really is very exciting news if true! One of the few producers to bring top quality around the UK. Itâs not a Cameron productionâŠ

So weird!
Youâd think Newcastle would get there first as thatâs where itâs opening.

miss-saigon.com/The info is on the official website. Michael Harrison in association with Cameron Mackintosh. A âmajor UK tourâ going to just 6 venuesâŠâŠ.. admittedly they can announce more in the future but why not do it properly?

Has CM seen what can be done from the Crucible production and manifested a new and cheaper touring show? Itâs this then. Theyâve seen that it can be successfully stripped back but want to do their own version of it. CM sees this as his new touring MS and doesnât want Sheffield Theatres being involved because it doesnât make business sense. The gender swap was probably a step too far too.

Well I'm excited, even though I really hoped the Crucible production would have another life.

I haven't seen the crucible version and by all accounts in was great but for me personally I can't imagine a "small" Miss Saigon working for me. I liked the scale of it. I liked the spectacle of the copter coming on stage. Small scaled back doesn't sound like it would work for me but I'm sure we will soon find out.

I thought the Sheffield remount was exceceptional and it would be a shame if aspects of it are not retained, including, yes, a female engineer..which in my opinion added a new emotional weight and addressed some of the problematic issues with this musical. It's a shame we will never see the full majesty of the original production again, but looking forward to this. Whatever it is, it will be better than the dreadful CM backed touring production of 2004.

The problem with them downsizing is while it can now play smaller venues, it will look more lost on the bigger stages around the country. Especially if it's really as stripped back as Sheffield

Does any version of this still have Now That I've Seen Her? That was always my favourite part on the soundtrack and I was surprised that it had been changed when I saw it at the Prince Edward a few years ago.

I know often âreimaginedâ tours are downscaled, but the announced venues arenât small? Nowhere does it say itâs going to be a smaller production this is all just speculation

No matter the scale of it, I'm a sucker for this bloody show... I'll be there with bells on.

I felt the same but then I saw the Crucible version which was one of my highlights of last year. It was excellent. I love the show anyway, so will definitely go and see it somewhere.

A âmajor UK tourâ going to just 6 venuesâŠâŠ.. admittedly they can announce more in the future but why not do it properly? Itâs called.. A marketing strategy See Book of Mormon and Moulin Rouge tour date announcements. Really, though? A 3 month tour announcement with 4 of those venues in the same area (in terms of touring talk). Screams panic announcement to me rather than a marketing strategy.
