This anniversary of lockdown has really got to me, I actually sobbed when I read this totally expected news. (I also sobbed last night because Freddie the seal died). I think the past year has finally broken me! Still, at least we hopefully have much to look forward to in the coming months with so many shows planning their re-openings. Onward with hope.

Sad but totally expected which is why I got a refund last year Same here THIRDED! Pretty Woman make sense at the moment being at the Savoy. As much as I love SITPWG - it's not as commercially successful even with Jake announced. I hope it will come back one day.

Someone already mentioned this a few months ago but it's worth bringing it up again I just finished reading it and it's great, a fantastic companion piece to "When Everything Was Possible"

(I believe) this has just been released in the US and later this month here.
I have been reading snippets of reviews online from the New York Times and other sources.
It's already on my Amazon Wish List.
Blank. A white canvas. His Favourite; so many possibilities....

If someone is feeling like treating themselves there are signed copies available here: premierecollectibles.com/Sunday/#It's 40$ (minus 10% if it's your first time buying from them) but international shipping is another 16$.

I finished this in almost one sitting via Audible and,I will get the Kindle copy for the pictures, so I can keep a copy, my various copies of Everything Was Possible have a peculiar habit of not coming back, when borrowed.

Apparently the London transfer is cancelled and they are going to film it for a wider release instead. Also, according to deuxmoi, JG is in talks to lead a Sondheim Benefit at the New York City Center with Mandy Patinkin.

I always thought that this would not happen now which is why I asked for a refund last year. As for Mandy Patinkin doing Sunday. Please god no! He was fine in the original production but in recent years his performances have got more and more bizarre. I still have vivid memories of his performance in Paradise Found at the Menier and his concert at the Vaudeville, and they are not good memories.

I read about the timing and the benefit concerts, but not about the cancellation of the transfer.

Apparently they have the cast and dates, they just need a venue. All is not lost, gotta hope a theatre becomes available. Pretty Woman is expected to extend, which is probably why x

There was talk of a film adaptation with Jake Gyllenhaal and Meryl Streep, as the Old Lady. I take it this might be a film capture of the production?

I love that there are over forty pages on a production that has not and possibly will not happen... I really hope it does one day or that the proposed film comes off. Jake & Meryl would be perfect casting. So much good stuff in this show. The song Sunday never fails to make me cry.

Don't know about Streeps involvement. Gyllenhaal was at the BFI Southbank a couple of years back promoted his latest film and when they opened the forum to the public I asked him if we's see him singing on film soon and he answered that they were hoping to make a film of it.
