Would the 2 stars need to do the full rehearsal period though. As this is the NY production they were both in and providing there are no major changes they could just slot in a couple of weeks before it opens. Although I do think this will unfortunately get cancelled.

Does the UK do refunds when above the title stars are not available as is common, but not mandated on Broadway?

Does the UK do refunds when above the title stars are not available as is common, but not mandated on Broadway? Not as a rule but sometimes exceptions are made, e.g. Glenn Close in Sunset Boulevard. They won't publish it in advance though, so you won't get a refund if the star just happens to be on holiday. You are still getting to see the show you paid for.

Perhaps if things are still choppy nearer the time it is due to rehearse and open, it could consider postponing til 2021? Hopefully it would not be cancelled completely.

I don’t care what he does with that paintbrush, I just want him. It’s a reasonable request in the scheme of things

If they move it to next year, they'll need to find another theatre, as apparently the Savoy is booked with another show.

It usually depends on how the show is sold and the billing. If you book to see Jake & Annaleigh "IN" SITPWG (above the title) then that's what you should see. However, if its SITPWG "WITH" or "STARRING" (below the title) then if one of them is off - tough! That's been my experience over the years anyway.

Always been told by box office the rule is You pay to see the show not the star Exactly. The "star" isn't the only person working hard on stage for your entertainment, and if you can't appreciate that then you should at best just take the risk with buying a day ticket once you know whether the "star" is on, though even then you are taking a risk they will call out between 10am and 2.30pm, which has happened to me before!

The great unwashed will Be There For Jake. In the current climate, one would hope not.

I was talking to someone the other day who had booked this and had no idea at all that it was a musical until I told her. She had purely booked it because of Jake. She is not a lover of musicals and I thought good luck with that as it's not one of Sondheims easiest.

Always been told by box office the rule is You pay to see the show not the star Thankfully when James McAvoy was unexpectedly out on a Monday in January this year, the box office exchanged my ticket to another date free of charge.

I hate to say it but there’s no way this show is going to open. A real shame as it was wonderful in NYC.

This my favourite musical and was going to be my musical theatre event of the year. I am London based and actually went down to the box office to purchased my ticket in person for early in the run. Guess I will have to await ATG's updates and instructions regarding a refund. (Sigh)
