I read a post in another thread as being a clue to Titanique It’d sit well in there, but has only played off-Broadway.

Last I heard it was something more... regal perhaps? And less moist than a pot of Mushnik's soil... Well, this clue makes me think of queens and deserts... It's a show when I heard they were doing it I was surprised. You'd think they would struggle for space to fit an iconic element of the show in the Menier. And a big element could be a bus/van... So could it be Priscilla Queen of the Desert?? Based on a comedy movie, it's been on broadway and london... Don't really know if it was successful or if it counts as a broadway musical tho. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong, it's not like I'm dying to see this one, but that's the one that came to mind 😅

I'm loving some of these mad suggestions. I wonder when they will announce. They never used to announce the next show until the previous one had started but things have changed now.

Would london get another Priscilla so soon? The one at Outernet closed early

It would be risky considering it closed early due to poor ticket sales but the Menier have made some incredibly odd choices when it comes to what they put on... Twiggy anyone?

Menier will be a classic surely - when was the last time their Christmas show wasn't something from at least 30 years ago?

The Producers? That would seem quite an apt choice given some of the productions that have featured at that establishment recently.

I’ve got to be honest, I’d be so disappointed if they ended up doing something like Jersey Boys which feels like it’s only just closed and is almost guaranteed to tour again soon anyway. Despite their hit-and-miss record leaning more towards misses recently, you can usually at least depend on the Menier to give something different a chance: The Boy Friend, Bridges of Madison County etc. Even back when they did Little Shop, there hadn’t been a London production for quite some time.
Sweet Charity? The Color Purple? The Producers would be fine, it’s been a while since its last outing, though the “big Broadway show” motif would surely fall flat and lose its impact in such a small space?
I’d also love to see them give an outing to a more modern Broadway show we haven’t seen here yet, like The Prom. Or Tootsie. But they don’t fit the clues we’ve been given in this thread for this year…

Jersey Boys won't happen because the UK rights are held by Trafalgar.

...Spamalot? But I'm really grasping at straws now.

The Crucible are doing Little Shop at Christmas so I doubt it's that.

Everyone got the rights to Little Shop this year so like it's not out of the question 😂
But I still predict a classic.

The Producers fits the clues, and seems something The Menier would put on

It wouldn't be Tootsie because A. It's fairly recent and B. Never been staged in London or the UK in general.
The Full Monty is unlikely because the musical version wasn't a hit here.

Starring Marcus Brigstocke and Mandy Patinkin ( for old times sake).
