I wonder who'll they get for the role of Charlotte?
Max Webster seems to becoming like Matthew Dunster of being the go to director of the moment.

14 years is still a long time. Someone born in 2010 is now a teenager.

14 years is still a long time. Someone born in 2010 is now a teenager. For a theatre which only does 6 productions a year, I don't think they should be repeating themselves like that, though. I suppose due to Covid, the usual conveyer belt of these plays coming around again has been disrupted so it's understandable they'd want to put on a play/wright which they know works and another theatre hasn't got there first. Chichester were due to do it in 2020 with Richard Coyle and Lisa Dillon, which was then scuppered & not rescheduled.

It's co-produced with Simon Friend productions (Life of Pi etc) - so i expect that changed the conversation a bit.
If it wasn't at the Old Vic it was probably going to be at a competing venue

Don’t look at their Christmas shows for the past umpteen years. You’ll get a shock.

I assumed Local Hero was going to fill this slot... didn't anticipate this. I'm excited though. I've wanted to see a production of this for a long time.
Not sure if I'm totally sold on Powley and McArdle in these roles though.

I saw Powley in Lobby Hero and thought she was excellent. Along with McArdle, I think that's a strong bit of casting

Got into the queue, from the waiting room, in the high 2000s so today looks not to be my day! Still hanging on in there, just in case.

I got in the 1800s which is okay.
There seems to be plenty of tickets available, I'm guessing it's not selling as well as previous shows.

I got two of those back row of the dress circle ones (the restricted view/slim pillar seats). So I'm happy with that.

Just under three hours' notice for this one. Very poor. Luckily I saw the email in time.

I'm guessing slow sales but this might be of use to someone. Email from OV just a few minutes ago.

Really thrilled by the pwc20 offer - I wasn't able to make any of the pwc10 dates so having this offer extended to dates beyond those initial previews is great. Got myself a nice row K stalls seat and super excited to see James McArdle treading the boards again

I might be in London in October, so will have to see if I can make it.

That's interesting, I got EARLY10 for £10 off top price tix for the same period. That wasn't enough to make me book but £20 off second price tix might be. Need to check the dates again.

Was at the first preview last night and this was really great with a particularly good turn from Mcardle. The second half maybe drags near the end and could do with some tightening but it’s in great shape otherwise. Stoppard usually leaves me cold but this was a lot of fun.

I was there tonight and also would not have known that it was a preview. It seemed very together. The scene changes are a lot of fun. I remember being very taken with Stoppard in my 20s and 30s (I am now in my early 60s) but I have to say that revisiting this was not an unadulterated pleasure. Maybe I'm no longer so thrilled by clever wordplay or am just generally jaded. I will be interested to hear what the general and critical reception to this is. For those heading to the Old Vic in coming days it finished at 10.05 pm tonight.
