I think MrB's track record speaks for itself - his exclusives more than outweigh the few times he has been incorrect (and we all get things wrong when it comes to theatre gossip and rumours occassionally - someone hears something that gets mixed up with another conversation etc)
Look forward to hearing what the Menier's Christmas musical is!

We also don't know that Mr. B was technically wrong. It could have been a waffling decision from producers. It also could have been that sources were let go after Hercules was moved from post-Frozen to one-year-after-Frozen and assumed that meant cancelled.

I think that this conversation has been had several times on here. Money falls out…extension options are optioned…people change their minds…
Clearly there was always an intent to mount the show, which this official announcement has now shown; it just took a bit longer than expected to get over the line as has happened many, many times before.

It was indeed on and off a few times. I’m not concerned if anyone believes me or not. I know it to be true!

Sure. Pretty sure i know way more than you actually when it comes to new unannounced shows. I won’t tell you what the Menier Choc Factory big winter musical is then. Seriously. What is this? The primary school playground? I'm taking my ball and going home!

The fun thing about unannounced shows is that they become announced when they’re happening.

The primary school playground? I'm taking my ball and going home! This pretty much sums up how I experience these forums! With a few exceptions. But if it’s called out (thank you for doing so!) you then get accused of trying to exclude criticism of shows. Which misses the point entirely. (Thanks for posting this, can I come and play ball?)

It was said in jest(the last bit) But honestly it’s a bit galling having someone take such glee when I reveal lots of show and casting news here first. I’m happy to not say anything again when I know information- but would be a bit dull.

I'd rather you kept feeding us your knowledge Mr B cos I wouldn't have a Scooby what's going on otherwise.

It is weird to think that Aladdin wasn't that well received here and now they're bringing a similar production back. Makes you wonder what they're expecting this time around. I suspect it didn't help that we can see a version of Aladdin every Christmas in the UK if we want to, and for a lot cheaper than Disney prices!

I have a theory Mr. B is actual Sonia Friedman (wearing a disguise)

Was that you in the box at MG last Saturday Mr B? Furiously scribbling away as if your life depended on it?

Especially as the top ones have flying carpets etc so it really didn't offer much else apart from the music. As much as i enjoyed it, Disneys aladdin also had panto elements/scenes and I don't think it worked as well as other disney shows. If they can rework Hercules to be more like Frozen (balance the disney with musical theatre) it could work well.

04 Jul 2025 - 28 Dec 2025
If that is right, there may still be something to announce for after Much Ado finishes on 05 April.

It will be sent out on tour no doubt. “Direct From The West End” with set and production values to match.

SeatPlan now has the dates as 4 June to 28 December 2025...though with the caveat that "performance dates on this page are unconfirmed."
