Just announced for July 2017 at Blackpool Opera House.
Cast includes Ruth Madoc, Cassie Compton, Roxanne Pallett, Ray Quinn.
On sale Friday.

Lovely. I love me some Ruth Madoc. It'll be interesting to see how she plays the Drew Barrymore character.
I might stage door so that I can say "hi-de-hi" to her. I think she'll love that.

I don't like him at all actually, but saw him in something a couple of years ago and had to grudgingly admit that he knows what he's doing up there. Most have done NYMT, NYT, shows galore where they come from, professional shows and TV as teenagers. Some courses like LSMT, LIPA, Guilford, Mountview, Royal Acadamy etc have older students starting later or doing post grads etc.
Anyway back to Wedding Singer. I'm looking forward to the tour!

To some Ray Quinn may be considered a 'name', which probably contributed to why he was cast. If they were casting purely based on talent then sure, a load of recent grads could have probably played the role, but it seems they wanted to go for someone with a bit of name recognition. And he's hardly the worst. After all, it's not like he's short on musical theatre credits.

Don't know much about the show (although one of my best friends has been in it and keeps raving about how good / cheesy it is, so we'll definitely be seeing it!  ) but enjoyed the performances. Loved Jon Robyns doing Music Of My Soul too (obviously I'll never be over Memphis!). Nice of them to show it on Facebook live for those of us who couldn't be there! |

Jon is extremely likable- really enjoyed him in Sister Act, so I'm looking forward to catching him in this. I was a little gutted I couldn't attend this concert (kick-off promo party) last night, got offered a ticket in the afternoon but I had already committed to go see a great little play called 'The Twentieth Century Way' so I had to decline which being such a big fan of the cast recording and loving the little stint at West-End Live.
I am yet to book so I must get on the case for Bromley!

I managed to catch the first preview of this last night at the curve. The audience vibe was amazing, completely sold out! I'm thinking of going again after the stage crew sort out a few technical issues they had but definitely a must see! 4/5 stars from me!!
