I could swear there was a concert of this at 54 Below not too long ago and a copy was floating around. Not sure if that's what you mean, but there was a "Total Eclipse: The Music of Jim Steinman" concert at 54 below, where - apparently - Jim Steinman himself was in the audience. Here's the playlist: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvTdu1-ynLERwQ0P9UIElNTFt5e4UxcLYThe "cast" includes Kate Rockwell, Jessica Hendy, Justin Matthew Sargent, Constantine Maroulis, Ariana DeBose, Tyce Green, Ellen Foley, Jeremy Jordan and Karla DeVito But I don't think it's related to the Jim Steinman musical. I think it's "just" a celebration of Jim Steinman's songs.

Meat Loaf is hardly a draw anymore, imagine it's gonna b tough.
So is this the coliseum's 2017 musical? I seem to be the only one massively disappointed

I seem to be the only one massively disappointed I think ENO's actual musical is rumoured to be 42nd Street, this is a rental for the summer months when they're not performing, usually they have touring companies but clearly money talks.

I seem to be the only one massively disappointed While I do agree with you that Meat Loaf as an artist is somewhat lost on the younger generation I told my dad about this today and you would have thought I had told him Christmas was tomorrow. He has been a huge Meat Loaf fan since his youth and this means a lot to him. it also means a lot to me and Steinman has written some fantastic songs with wonderful score that are just musical material. I'm 26 and a huge Meat Loaf fan already so would be going regardless however I think the casting here is going to be critical along with marketing.

Meat Loaf is hardly a draw anymore, imagine it's gonna b tough. In the same way that Beautiful would flop because youngsters hadn't heard of Carole King? More than enough mature theatre goers for this to run for a few years. Strange choice of theatre though.

If anyone loves Meat Loaf, I have some great recipes?
Bat out of Hell was the 3rd highest grossing album of all time.
I take it this is a seperate commercial venture and NOT replacing the ENO annual musical?
I was tempted to go to Manchesterand may still if something else is on, but can wait for this to come to London, annoyingly I have booked to see A Streetcar Called Desire with Maxine Peake at the Exchange, but cannot find anything to go with it later?
Now they are doing this, I would love if they did Pink Floyds - The Wall, that would be awesome.

Now they are doing this, I would love if they did Pink Floyds - The Wall, that would be awesome. It has been workshopped for a theatrical run, and a staging was planned (hire companies asked to quote for it etc) a couple of years ago. No idea why it didn't come to fruition, but if it did I would be there. It is possibly my favourite album of all time.

Douche my friend, douche.
The Wall is a album that is screaming out to be converted for theatre.

But what if it's a lemon and you want your money back?
Can we have a BOOH 2 thread please?

Hmm, is Manchester worth a weekend trip? I've been to Liverpool, but not to Manchester. I could sit back and wait until this arrives in London, but I quite like the chance to visit new towns. It helps that there are direct flights to Manchester. Thoughts?

Highly recommended a trip to Manchester. Great city, easy to get around, great bars, restaurants and theatres. You will not be disappointed
I'm a bit biased but it's true. Give it a go

I love Manchester. Trying to move back there actually. Definitely visit if you can. If you book far enough in advance you can also get cheap enough train tickets to and from London.

A quid says Kerry Ellis is beating down his door. Yes this has Ms Ellis written all over it... "SLOANE: Female 40's. FALCO's partially resigned but decidedly independent wife and mother to RAVEN. Seeking a wildly intelligent, physically daring singer with a sexy rock-and-roll sensibility. Mezzo Soprano voice." Looking forward to this, my very first gig ever dragged along by my aunt and I bloody loved it! Been a massive fan ever since...

Sounds very interesting - let's hope it doesn't turn out like Dance of the Vampires on Broadway, Jim Steinman's last attempt at a musical.

If there's anything you need help with in planning your trip shout up!

For the record, Steinman's music is not the problem with Dance of the Vampires, it's the very uneven book. Would love see Steinman music in a better show. Hence the trip considerations

I have heard Mandy Gonzalez sing Total Eclipse though, and i'd probably be willing to pay the ticket price just for that!

This sounds like my idea of 'hell.'
Couldn't resist the awful pun but I can't summon any enthusiasm for this.
For those who can, enjoy!

If it opens in London, my thought was that it might be gone before the morning comes, too... I smiled and exhaled through my nose, but didn't quite laugh out loud at that joke. Still... two out of three ain't bad
